    Who loves this game? I don't think I've seen a casual game so packed full of value and fun as the Steam Game of the Year edition I have. I'm not sure how the different versions actually differ, but there is so much to do in the version I have it's amazing.

    The whole normal tower-defense-type game is fantastic, but then there are a whole slew of mini games that merge the zombie theme with differing gameplay, some resembling other games like bejewelled and finally the zen garden area.

    I have actually gotten every achievement. I think the hardest one was the level 15 vase-breaker achievement; dealing with two Gargantuars in the same level is tough, especially if you break their vases early on.

    The I, Zombie mini game is also a hoot; reversing your role into a strategy game where you choose zombies to defeat a given plant defense.

    All the different zombie types are hilarious, and I like how different plants and zombies are introduced as you play through the levels, so it remains fresh for a long time.

    I haven't played it, but my son loves it. I thought it was pretty clever, but my gaming time is more and more limited these days, and i am going to delve into DAO ASAP, so do not want to get involved with this game right now.

    Yeah, what reminded me of this game was my sister's family was visiting from Northern California, and my 5 y.o. nephew was playing the game on his dad's iPad. Both he and my neice know all the zombies and plants and can imitate the types well enough for you to guess which one they are. :lol:

    Me and my ex-missus used to sit and play it loads, which I guess shows how casual it is when girls can sit and play it.

    [​IMG] Casual games are usually identified by a more continuous nature. There is a short introductory section of the game akin to tutorial where the entire elements are introduced and then on levels are sections are variations on a base theme - for example pac-man using the same maze and same ghosts but the fruits change on certain levels. Most casual games feature semi-repetative puzzles or completely repetative puzzles and do not focus on a story but generally have a score board.

    'Serious' games have story features along with defined portions, beginnings, middles and ends, they have more varied game concepts intermingled into them and feature more identifiable protagonists and characters and clearly delineated goals.

    Competative games can blend aspects of both types designed on a more open nature to have an arena for two or more players to demonstrate capabilities on a range of features. The games are longer and more intense than casual games but lack the delineation and enrichment of a 'serious' game. Strategy games in a competative setting often have accepted 'phases', a gathering period, a building period, a defensive period and a retaltiation period (arguably a mop-up period as well :p)

    The person sitting next to me on the airplane was playing it on her IPad while I watched. I couldn't understand why there was fog or mist over the enemy side.
