    The original is the best.

    Edit: Just for Blades ... my mother had this album and used to play it every Saturday while cleaning the house (along with Nancy Sinatra and Elvis -- they mopped).

    That would be the lyrics of the bridge in The Supremes' "You keep me hangin' on". I love these chicks! :D This is the kind of 60s (along with the 70s) that really get me enthusiastic. You know, Otis Redding, Bill Withers, The Temptations and far too many more.

    Mmh... Usually it takes a member of the BoM about 38 minutes to come up with a guess. It's been 38 hours now, so reason is telling me that a hint might be appreciated. :D

    The singer, with an intentional high and slightly soft voice, became paralysed from the neck down after a set of lighting equipment fell on him. He also suffered from diabetes and had one of his legs amputated. He didn't live long after the amputation.
    The song is from a blacksploitation movie/album. And no, I don't mean Shaft. (That singer doesn't have a high voice at all)

    Actually, ever since I heard them first I liked them. They really strike a chord with me. Great band.

    Btw: I googled that song. I can only find Add it up by Violent Femmes (And that Gucci Mane guy, but the lyrics don't correspond :p). Can't find any info on it being a cover either. Did you make a mistake there or was my search that crappy?
