Duel Wielding. Flail of Ages with Crom Faeyr is too powerful for any 2 handed weapon.

Err.. wrong. Dual-wielding Flail of Ages +5 with anything ain't cool since you can't use Improved Haste for some real carnage without using up your Whirlwinds once per combat round.

My favorite weapons are ... fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms!

    Great thread!:)

I have to say it depends on Charname... however strange it might sound. The neutral ones dual - wield (with a weapon no bigger than a short sword in the off hand; more 'realistic' that way). The evil ones are almost always fascinated with Sarevok and his power, therefore they choose to follow in his footsteps by wielding a two - handed sword.

Or is it Viconia and Jaheira dual wielding him, eh? :D:D:D

One on't cross beams gone owt askew on treadle.:D

Yeah, well. I got the picture of my protagonist slicing a similar hero-type of yours into tiny bits with a couple of katanas, after which he uses the reflection of the shield lying on the ground to see if he stepped in something... :p

I'm not sure what answer to choose, as 'all of the above' or 'depending on the character' would be my answer of choice.

I have played Tutu far more than BG2, and beneath the TOTSC level-cap you can't afford to put much in weapon styles, as you have to make sure first you are proficient and for fighters specialized in your favoured weapons. But Imoen, if I dual her into a mage, gets her 3rd * often in single weapon style, especially if I gave her the Swashbuckler kits, because it gives her the option as a Thief>Mage to get toe to toe with the enemy if needed, often to kill off weaker enemies without wasting a spell, or if enemies close in and there is no 'rear quarters' anymore.

My favourite PC is a Blade and I have him dual-wield of course. When completing Tutu and going into SoA he dual-wielded Axes (Stonefire and that other elemental axe you can get early on) and later longswords, when I found Daystar and bought the Blade of Roses (bringing his CHA to 20).

My fighters often get 2H weapon style for the extra 'punch' when wielding 2H swords.

Sword and shield style is a good one for clerics: they can't get several points in dual-wielding, or if the weapon-styles for all tweak allows it, it just takes to long to get them to be ambidextrous enough, and they use slings as missile weapons anyway so they carry their shield constantly instead of the need-be basis I apply with fighters and archery types (thieves, rangers).

Dual-wielding. I've got two arms, so it's pretty pointless to occupy only one. That, and shields are too heavy.

I usually play with thief with small bow and I'm too lazy to micromanage from dual wield to bow so I use single weapon mostly. Sometimes two handed with staff.
