Hello all, first time posting here on the forums but I've been a regular visitor for some time now and I must say this place just rocks end of story. The tips here are fantastic and the people seem really down to Earth. Anways, on with my question...

I am just curious, if you could make a group, regardless of Reputation req. or Alignment..who would be in it?

I figured a cool group would be:
    Me - Fi/Ma/Th
    Minsc
    Korgan
    Keldorn
    Jaheira
    Viconia

Anyways, I'm just curious as to who all you would put into a group if you didn't have to worry about one of them leaving or killing off another member.

Well, thanks for the tips and tactics I've been picking up on and thanks for having the boards open in the first place for those of us who need that extra push of help :)

    Be well and keep safe,
    -Visage

P.S. I did a search through the forums for a topic like this one but couldn't find one, sorry if it's all been done before.

I'm fairly new to BG and this board myself. I agree, it's great. The search function really helps. And the people are helpful and fun.

    Anyhoo, on to the reply...

If I was picking a party based solely on *personalities* that I enjoy it would be

My protagonist-a female paladin, Minsc, Viconia, Jan, Haer Dalis, and Korgan.

If I was choosing by *effectiveness* I'd replace Haer Dalis with Aerie, and Minsc with Keldorn.

I don't like Anomen. And I'm not that familiar with Mazzy, Cerynd, or Valygar. Imoen I liked in BG1 but now she's getting too neurotic, she's kind of a downer. Jaheira always has her own agenda and she's not that great a fighter. I would love to have Yoshimo straight through if... well, you know.

BTW, I have a base charisma of 18, with items its 20. I am able to keep Viconia in an otherwise Good/Neutral party.... just barely. She leaves and than asks to come back a second later. I would suggest you up your charisma and then you can have the party you want, but with your multi-class you probably need to have your high stats elsewhere.

[IMG] I always go for a group that is effective, regardless of alignments, but am wary of any conflicts such as Keldorn/Viconia. The usual line up includes Jaheira, Viconia, Edwin and Imoen. Mazzy and Nalia have both seen a lot of use with them too. Besides, their fun to use :D

I know certain people won't work well togather, either they kill each other or someone up and leaves the party. I was just curious who you would make a party out of if everyone could get along.

My group would probably consist of:
    Me - Kensai
    Keldorn
    Viconia
    Yoshimo / Imoen
    Edwin
    Korgan

Whatever group has the most interesting dialogue due to its ambiguous nature.

    PC
    Jaheira
    Minsc
    Aerie
    Keldorn
    Edwin
    Korgan

Drop 2 of those and add Imoen. Edwin and Minsc has to be in the group.. and I don't remember who was Korgans nemesis either (I seem to remember he had one though). So that there's constant quarrel and humorous dialogue conflicts.

Korgan and Aerie don't get on at all; also Korgan and Mazzy don't get on, but come to a sort of grudging respect for one another.

A bit :yot: , but I think this is as good a place as any. I took Edwin with me after turning him down from the thief stronghold, right before I left for spellhold. How many of his sarcastic comments can I expect to hear with just him, Imoen and Tashia in my party? And will I still get his Edwina -quests and all after I leave the underdark?
