[IMG] well, what chapter are you in ?
I take it that you've already cleared the Nashkell Mines ? Have you read the scrolls you found there ? They should give clear instructions on what to do next.

Ah, the Mad Man, Bassilius. Well, you can find him very close to Beregost, High Hedge,... somewhere in that neighbourhood. You can't miss him.

I hope this helped you out...

[IMG] Bassilus can be found on the map below High Hedge (which is to the left of Beregost). You can also pick up a talking chicken in the upper right of this same map. He gives you directions no what to do to return him to his human state. Funny stuff.

If you've cleared out the Nashkel Mines, you should've found some letters in Mulahey's chest. To get back on track with the main quest, you'll need to go find a mage named Tranzig. I've heard tell he's taken rooms at Feldpost's Inn in Beregost, but with these vile miscreant's, you never can tell...

    May Peace favor your swords.

[IMG] yeah, Tel Janin, could you please spell iot "favour" and not "favor". Please be a bit more English about things. BG is set in the middle ages after all...

Isn't BG set like 200 years before the middle ages began. In classic fantasy books elves and gnomes and the such died out 1000 years before the middle ages. Then again BG is forgotten realms which are rather new books. Hey, is there anyone who knows the exact answer to this?

The Forgotten Realms don't take place on Earth, so the Middle Ages thing doesn't really apply. Although you could say that it is the middle ages in the world. They just invented arquebusiers (muskets).
