I'm up to Chapter 5 in IWD:2 and have the latest patch but whenever I try to go to the next area, Dragons Eye, it comes up with "An assertion failed in infinity.cpp at line number 1827 Programmer says: Demand for WED file failed.

I've looked around to see if the solution to this problem is anywhere but I've had no success, I've unintalled it and installed again, tried with the patch and without, fiddled with the config settings but nothing seems to really be working.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what I can do to fix it? I desperately want to finish the game this time through!

Googling "WED file" shows: WED - Infinity Game Engine Graphic Display Info (BioWare Corp.)

Perhaps try changing your graphics settings to get through the area?
    Possibly a corrupted save.

[IMG] It means the wed file is inaccessable. If it's persistant even after reinstalling then it's a problem on your disks, someone else with the game will have to send you the wed file you are after, either uploading it to a file hosting site or emailing you.

Another thing you can try is checking your Override folder in the IWD2 directory, if the wed file is in there, try removing it. If it is in the Cache folder try removing it from there too.

When reinstalling a game it doesn't always clear the cache and override folders so if it's a problem not with the core installation it will remain.

    Thanks

I've tried changing the graphics settings quite a few times so now I'm installing it on my brothers computer and trying that, if that fails I'll have to handle this WED thing :p

Thanks though, I'll see how it goes

Didn't go well, still doesn't work on my brothers computer. How would I tell which WED file I needed?? If you or anyone else knows which one and have it, please e-mail it to me at Stuck_mann -at- hotmail.com

    It'd be a massive help!!

    Thanks
