Posted this same thing on another forum...

I've used these forums for years, but never joined... always used them for BG, but never really had anything to say, so I hope this is some news for some people...

There is a new project going up for Dragon Age to reinvent Baldur's Gate using the Eclipse engine, and modify it slightly to fit the BGII game we love so much.

And here is the work so far...

What do you think of it? Help them with any expertise you have you want it. I am willing to help, they need soe help, though they are doing a fantastic job already.

Thanks for the links. I've watched the video and it looks good and rather accurate but such a project is just too huge even for a team of excellent modders. I wish them luck though.

I can forsee lots of trouble wit this one. Halflings and gnomes for instant. None of those in DA, so they would have to make those from scratch. Implementing the d&d 2ed rules as well might be tricky. And then all the different monsters in BG2. Yuan-ti, goblins, beholders, plus plus plus. If they do manage to finish it though, it will be in 6-7 years from now. Heck, I hope they manage to do it though. I really do. But at this point, i am sceptical.

Good work on the vids though. As far as i can tell, they nailed the dungeon.

The mod will be in episode form, so the dungeon should be finished this year we believe, and then from there we will work on Amn and fix bugs with the dungeon (or let others fix them for us, because the team will get bigger we hope).

What do you think? Episode form sound good?
