So I've just started a new game after a while, installed the patch, and also some small mods/fixes (mainly widescreen mod, ease of use, selune's light and some xp fixes). Well, I just got to the battle square, and strangely, whenever I start the battle square, I can't win. That is, I conquer every square on the board and still the damn golem tells me to select another square (and I can still select squares I've previously conquered, and then kill a monster).

Anybody know why this is happening?

[IMG] Never seen that before... i suggest you reinstall. And if you have ease-of-use, update your WeiDU and don't install the randomized items component.

battle square not working for me either

I'm having the same problem. I've played through the game several times, so I know how battlesquare works. I get my three-in-a-row and...nothing happens. The golem asks me to keep choosing squares, even when they're full.

I've tried reinstalling, reinstalling without ease-of-use, without any mods, and nothing seems to help. (In fact, if I try to load a game without ease-of-use, my saved game crashes IWD2). I've never loaded the randomized items component.

    Any ideas?

Semi-seriously, I'd suggest using the Ease of Use "Skip Battlesquares" option when you speak to the Battle Squares golem. ;)

Seriously though, the script that controls the battle squares "game" is truly, truly immense (at almost 6700 lines)... which makes trying to debug this problem ... rather difficult...

I've thought of that, but I actually like playing battle squares.

the problem seems to be the widescreen mod. i installed without it, and everything is running well. i guess i'll have to play battlesquares windowed, and then afterwards re-install with the widescreen mod.

That's odd, moog. Perhaps the Widescreen mod is messing up the coordinates used for the 9 squares in some way that's causing the BSq script to be unable to work properly.
