    but the Sphere guy lies on the ground
    and IS red... i can attack him...
    but how do i get him outside....

    That was the worse quest i EVER did :...
    (well werwolves in bg1 were .... :) )

    Just talk to him. If the sword comes up, you should still be able to click on the Talk option at the bottom. Once you talk to him, you get some cut scenes that complete the quest.

    Ok. Did you complete the following:

    STEP ONE

    Attack him first after his introduction, were hacking away and he stopped attacking you and went into dialog again?

    STEP TWO

    If he did, he asks you to find the Demon Heart to get the Planar Sphere BACK to the Material Plane.

    STEP THREE

    You went out of the Planar Sphere, found the Demons, killed one or all three and returned with the Demon heart.

    STEP FOUR

    Return to Lavok and he'll tell you exactly where you put the Demon heart, but "you must hurry!"

    STEP FIVE

    Take the Demon Heart and place it into that alien strange looking thing to give the Planar Sphere power.

    STEP SIX

    RETURN to Lavok and tell him your task is done.

    What step is he red to you at?

    Step Six, when you talk to him again, he will ask that you take his corpse and show him the sun. You agree to this and you "pick him up" and it loads and you find yourself back outside. You get 45,500xp once you get him outside.

    IF YOU CANNOT get him outside, you took too long. Rested for too many days, diddy daddled looking at the pictures, whatever. Lavok and his death are a timed quest and if you were unable to help him out in 4-5 days, he goes insane from the evil that had tainted him, and this could be why he is red to you now.
