    Heya,

    I have just reinstalled SOA and TOB, i can play TOB but SOA keeps asking for cd 2 in the drive,

    I have created a game and got to the end of irenicus dungeon ready to go out side, using "dungeon be gone", but when i try to go out, it auto saves and then asks for cd 2 in the drive.

    i have reset the baldur's.ini file several times to where my drive is, and to the baldur's gate directory, and none of the differing drive locations i set, will let me out of the dungeon without asking for the disk that is already in the drive.

    I have the 2 dvd / 2 cd version of Baldur's gate & Tosc, and SOA/TOB

    I am frustraited because it should work, but is not. TOB plays fine, it likes the cd5 in drive E: just fine, but SOA not happening.

    any help?

    Have you patched the game? Maybe the official patch fixes that problem, though I've never heard of it.

    You could - and I don't think it's illegal to say it under these circumstances - install a no-cd crack, that should get the job done. Though I don't know how if that messes up any mods you might have.

    A final though might be to copy your cds to the harddrive and then pointing you baldur.ini to that directory, might be worth a shot.

    Good luck!

    I have a Mac and they may operate differently than your computer if you have a PC. However I found that w a full install I was able to play SoA & ToB with just one of the CDs. If you have a full install of ToB you may be able to play both via your ToB as long as you just start using the SoA starting point option in your ToB game. Though I agree that you should look for a patch.

    TY for the replies,

    I did the full installs of both SOA|TOB and i did copy the cd2, cd3, cd4, folders from my game disk to the baldurs gate directory, then pointed the baldur's.ini file to the baldur's gate 2 soa folder where it should have found the cd2 cd3 cd4 folders,

    also i did the properties on the copied folders to set the as not read only.

    The only mod i have is dungeon begone for soa,

    [Alias]
    HD0:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
    CD2:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\
    CD3:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD3\
    CD4:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD4\
    CD5:=E:bad:CD5\

    [Alias]
    HD0:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
    CD2:=G:bad:CD2\
    CD3:=G:bad:CD3\
    CD4:=G:bad:CD4\
    CD5:=E:bad:CD5\

    CD5:=E\CD5\ works fine for TOB, but neither of the two listed ini pointers let me go outside of irenicus's dungeon.

    my newest DVD read\write is messing up, and i do not use it, i have an external DVD read\write for my laptop, and used it to do the SOA\TOB installs, as drive G:bad:

    according to where my files have been copied and according to the drive letter i installed SOA\TOB, then the above ini pointers should work, as they point exactly to where the files needed are located.

    Why is "Alias" listed twice?

    Have you tried deleting the bottom one? Also, is there really a space on both sides of the hyphen in your directory?

    The reason i listed it twice is because they are two different versions i have tried to get SOA to continue after the dungeon.

    the first set points to my hard drive where the game is installed and where i copied the files from the DVD (CD2, CD3, CD4, CD5) too.

    The second set is where i pointed to the DVD that did the install in the first place,

    both are not in the ini at the same time, i was just showing that either way they should work but for what ever reason they do not.

    my TOB Patch is version 2.11.15.0 my soa patch says it dose not need to run because tob is installed.

    Hey Guys,

    I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of SOA, then before i did anything else i made a start up game and got out of the dungeon, then saved, also i made a backup of the working Baldur.ini file,

    then reinstalled TOB only to find out that SOA no longer worked, so i copied the backup baldur.ini and got SOA back working, and had to add the CD5:= back to the working ini file,

    so this is what my working ini file looks like sheesh.

    [Alias]
    HD0:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
    CD1:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD1\
    CD2:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\
    CD3:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD3\
    CD4:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD4\
    CD5:=C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\English\;C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\

    never seen a badur.ini look like that, but hey it works now

    Strange, this is what mine looks like:

    [Alias]
    HD0:=C:bad:Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
    CD1:=C:bad:Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD1\
    CD2:=C:bad:Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\;C:bad:Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\
    CD3:=C:bad:Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD3\
    CD4:=C:bad:Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD4\
    CD5:=C:bad:Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\

    Never seen baldur.ini look like yours either. Oh well...
