Thieving Skills in ToB

    hi,

    i've noticed that i'm having trouble with disarming traps (no problem finding them...) and pick locks already in saradush jail area. i'm playing with imoen as thief (about 80-100 in find traps / open locks, i can't remember...) i can only imagine how hard it would be later on in the game. what are the required points to have in these skills in tob game?

    do i have to get jan instead of imoen to boost the skills?

    can you bash any lock with str25? if so, my only concern will be to disarm the traps...

    please help.

    You don't need Jan at all. My Imoen was perfectly enough for the rest of the ToB for thief skills. Try using the ring which gives bonus to find/remove traps and potions of perception when you are in trouble.

    Most traps are just a joke at ToB levels anyway, with so many powerful defensive and healing spells/items/options.

    You'll find an item which raises thieving skill in ToB. But the game is even playable without a thief in the party, so don't worry.

    If you are going thief-free the spell "knock" may be of use to you.
