Hy all, I just started playing ID2 and have few questions.

I made my line out like this:

    1. Elf-drow (name Drizzt Do'Urden) ..hes a fighter
    2. Human-barbarian (Wulfgar) ...barbarian
    3. dwarf paladin (Bruenor)
    4. wizard conjurer (Alustriel)
    5. ranger (Catti-brie)
    6. half elf Fighter (Artemis Entreri)

Names are from R.A. Salvatore (except Artemis is human, but in game i putted him as ELF)

    now..question is
    can i change lineup?

    I would put like this

    1. fighter
    2. barbarian
    3. dwarf
    4. half elf fighter
    5. ranger
    6. wizard

...so i thought of changing line up..is that possible or not?

No healers in the group though, so you might end up in trouble alot.

As for the characters: Bruenor and Cattie-Brie are fighters, and Drizzt is a ranger. Just incase you wanted to make the group as correct as possible.

If you want to change the line-up, just right click on the characters portrait, hold the button in, and drag the portrait over another portrait. That will make them swap places. I think that was how its done, anyway.

I think the only character you got right maybe Wulfgar and I don't know about Alustriel

As i read book my opinion is this:

Drizzt fights with 2 swords/sabers whatever.
    Wulfgar use hammer.
    Bruenor use axe.
    Catti-brie use bow
Alustriel..well i dont know what is she..some kind of wizard? i dont know
    Artemis is a fighter/rogue...in a book

Rawgrim, so what you suggest , start again and get some healer?

    ---------- Added 14 hours, 9 minutes and 22 seconds later... ----------

I just reinstalled windows..so im planning to reinstall game and start from beggining.

    What is your suggestion?

I thought to have this line up:

    1. barbarian
    2. fighter
    3. fighter or rogue
    4. druid
    5. sorcerer
    6. wizard

sorcerer and wizard would play with bows...and other with swords, except barbarian and druid..they would use hammers/axe

is this good line up or?

sorcerer and wizard would be human, barbarian too, fighter would be drow, fighter or rogue drow too

The line up is nice. You basically have everything you need, although as Rawgrim said, you're a little light on healing. Change No.2 to a Fighter 4/Cleric X and you'll be fine :)

2-handed weapons do far more damage 1-handed ones in IWD2, therefore the barbarian would be far more effective in melee with a 2-handed sword. There are returning throwing hammers in IWD2.

I'd replace the fighter with a pure class battleguard of tempus. That's actually an axe fighter with full access to cleric spells which do help a lot. I'd consider taking a dwarf for faster leveling.

Whether you choose fighter, fighter/rogue, or rogue for character 3, strength is the most important stat.

Druids can use halberds and spears without taking a feat, they do nearly the same damage as axes (sometimes you can find magical ones which are even superior), but taking an axe feat for throwing axes isn't a bad idea.

For the sorcerer and wizard I don't think it's worth spending a feat for bow proficiency, crossbows do more damage as long as you only get one attack per round. I'd make the wizard a diviner or transmuter since more spells per day are better, the sorcerer can handle the few important forbidden spells.

For No.2 you don't have to include 4 fighter levels, you could just go a pure cleric. The extra levels enable you to specialize in weapons, give you a higher BAB and give you an extra couple of feats.

I always like: Druid, wizard, fighter, bard, monk, cleric if I use a 6 person line up.

I know a lot of people prefer more fighters but monk, druid and fighter are generally enough especially when you get the higher level shape shifters
