[IMG] Is there anyone to get the mace head from Glaicas peacefully, without needing to kill or pickpocket him?

I read somewhere that if you charm him he reverts back to his regular mindset and gives it to you, but all my efforts ended in nothing.

What´s the problem with killing him?

I think the only charm person that will work is if you use the Ring of Human Influence (from the Circus Tent).

You get a ton more XP if you do this, rather than kill him.

I do not know if pickpocketing works, but it might be worth a try.

    From Dan Simpson's walkthrough:
P.S.: it's a flail head, so I hope you haven't putting putting points into maces by mistake.

    P.P.S.: WooHoo! 900th post!

I think Mr. Simpson's walkthough might be incorrect.

I have used the Ring of Human Influence to charm Glasius, and it worked without me ever attacking him.

Charming Glacias is a bit buggy at best. Depending on your choice of fix pack and patch, any form of charm--including the Earth Control ring you find on the first floor--could possibly work.

With Baldurdash and ToB, I have successfully charmed Glacias via spell and using RoHI. The problem is that you need to stand around and wait for the charm to wear off before you can talk to him.

From a RP perspective, why whouldn't good-aligned characters try to save Glacias?

Just remember, in my experience anyway, the guy makes that saving throw often!

i think the script error has been fixed in the latest patch.
Else its one of the missellaneous bugs fixed in the Ease-of-use mod.
Either way, when I tried to charm him this time round it worked perfectly. (Had to cast entangle first, the guy moves like a monk.)

I charmed him without any more troubles. He gave the flail head to me without a fight, and it's more Xp-rewarding than killing him.

I never worry about the xp, when I first found him it was an accident, I had walked in the room and never heard of him before :p . But even though charming him might give you more xp, you should realize that if he's attacking, why would your characters ever want to save him? Why not hold him instead?

I believe that you'll only know that he's not a bad guy if you have Nalia in your party. She tells you about him.

Just charm him and rest. When you wake up he'll be blue. Otherwise he reverts to red for me, no matter what i use to charm him. But if I rest i get the extra exp.

Not only that, but Nalia must be close by your protagonist when you enter the room the hidden door to the center is located in (First door to the north in the hallway from the stairs)

I was playing BGII just today and, after going through the game twice before, it only just happened now. Strange.

[IMG] You don't need Nalia. Just do a domination spell, the moment it wears off talk to him. It might take a few goes as Glacius saving throw is really good. Mostly I've just killed him but it can be done.

I remember trying that tactic of charming/pausing/talking, but it never worked.
So I just kill him....
