[IMG] I had already beaten the game, so I decided to remove the exp. cap and import my Lv. 17 Cavalier and play the game again. Wow! This Character was SO powerful by the time I reached Irenicus the second time! He was Lv. 26, had a -18 Thac0, -10 A.C. , had Carsomyr, had 2 Ring of Gaxx (Via a glich in the game, pick pocket Kangaxx, then kill him= 2 rings),all saves -3 or better, 22 STR, 18 DEX, 21 CON, ( via the stat boosts at the end ) and mag. res. 90%!! This character proved to be VERY fun to use. I NEVER died even once in this second run of mine! In my opinion, This character could take any other class of the same level. What do you think? :)

[IMG] Well it couldn't take on a LvL 26 mage. Couple of lower resistance and your out of here. Or the mage just has to cast imprisonment. It be good if your not versing a mage.

Play through a 3rd time with him.

Btw, it could take on a mage, just use some speed potion and run like buggery and start beating the crap out of him.

Once your levels get that high, its always the same amount of XP to go up in level again isn't it?
If it is, a level 35 cavalier sounds nice. I am going to start a new game with a monk and play through a few times to make a monster.

    Pycho Bob Mk.2 sounds nice!

A lvl 26 monk would destroy the cavalier. They hit for 1-20 or so I believe by then, have 4 or 5 attacks a round, have a very low AC, very low thaco, high mag. resistance so you can't do any spells against them really, and have abilities like quivering palm/stunning blow that would stop your cavalier dead or stunned.

A lvl 26 sorc would massacre him. Lower Res + Time Stop + Meteor Swarm, or Lower res + hold person + symbol/death.

EDIT: I'm going to start playing my monk again, and once I get 26 or so I'll tell you what his stats/saves/equipment are/is.

No way! a lvl 26 archer beats any old lvl 26 mage!! why, with an assortment of arrows from dispell to biting, with a thac0 so low its rediclous! not to mention the bonus thac0 reduction with bracers of archery. If they came into the fight not knowing it was about to begin (ie. no missle reflection blah blah blah protective spells) the archer would win hands down I say!!

The reason I don't think a lv. 26 sorcerer could beat him is that with boots of speed, 3 attacks per round, and a -18 Thac0 a sorcerer would not get the chance to cast any spells. Not to mention, Carsomyr's dispel effects would get rid of any magical defenses. Besides, If lower resistance is about to be cast all I'd have to do is use one of the two uses of invisiblity from my rings of Gaxx. ( cannot target invisible creatures ) :) Hold person does not work while his save vs. spells is -3. Meteor swarm is ineffective against a char. with 211 hit points that regenerates 2 HP every 3 seconds. Imprisonment and all other spells are useless when just 1 scroll of magic protection is read anyhow. In short, only a fighter could stand a chance. I even tried him without armor vs. a lv. 34 thief with armor and he annihilated him.

Oh, I almost forgot, Any offensive spell cast at him is reflected via the Robe of Mirroring. Yet another reason that a Mage of any sort would lose.

Symbol of Death Does not work against a char. with a -5 save vs. death. Quivering palm/ stunning blow do not work if the target saves. ( My Cavalier's saves range from -3 to -7 ) :) And an archer better not use a bow against him or his Thac0 goes up to -22!! :) With his Thac0 still at -18 he hits EVERY time, and deals about 75 - 200 damage PER ROUND. ANYTHING with 150 or less HP dies before it can do anything. ( such as a mage or monk) :)

The mage just have to cast absolute immunity, probably have chain contingency, the chain has 3 Abi-dalzim's horrid Wilting, then the spell sequencer would have 3 lower resistance and your kaput. Or the mage have to cast imprisonment after absolute immunity.

Uh, one other thing: circumstances. The mage could have the Robe of Vecna, boots of speed, girdle of frost giant strength, etc. It really depends on what the mage casts. Maybe stoneskin, timstop, then whatever else. You can cast time stop inside of a time stop inside of a timestop, etc. That's a lot of spells. I personally believe a high level mage could take out anybody, it just depends when you catch him. That's what mage's strong suit is, totally powerful but runs out of fuel quickly.

[IMG] Radek of Boktor, my dual class fighter (Lvl 6)/ thief (Lvl 23) had grand mastery with his Katana, was specialised in single handed weapon style, dex 19, achieved a total score of 147 damage (5x damage, critical hit) backstabbing a beholder - killing it with a single hit. He was armed with with Celestial Fury.
I don´t know if even a Giant Paladin would be able to deal with this.

    Hey Ragusa,
I didn't think you could even backstab with a katana. Unless Celestial Fury is an exception. I know that I'm told that the katana is not an acceptable weapon for backstab.

[IMG] Hey Sol'torg, I bet I can beat you with my Legendary-Slurm-Worm. Spawns slugs as well as Face-Huggers each round and has 'whateverIwant'HP, so you better don't mess with him/her/it! btw. I think ANY Slurm-Worm will do...
