Hi, does anyone else notice the poor quality of the voice acting in the game? I'm not talking about the actors themselves but the audio quality. The clearest example is when you encounter Irenicus at the start of the game and can hear the clear distortion on his voice. Even when listening directly to the wav file the problem is the same.

All I can think is its an encoding issue as BG 1 uses the same format, sample rate and bit depth (16 bit, 22khz) and it is far clearer.

Not all the voice acting is distorted and I can't notice any within the music, sound effects, etc.

I've always noticed it even when I got it when it came out.

Did you disable the environmental sound effects?

It happens with or without EAX. As I said the actual wav files themselves are distorted even when played back in an audio editor out of the game.

I'm just wondered if there were quality control issues with the game for certain discs or they simply messed up when encoding the audio for the game.

Perhaps it's only a problem I've experienced. It isn't game breaking it's just irritating. I also have problems in IWD when installing ToTLM.. it messes up my attack sounds, so maybe it really just is me having sound problems. ;)
