Anyone get around to playing this demo yet? I think this is going to be the greatest of all RTS games yet. There are so many little factors involved. The designers of this game had their head on their shoulders when they put this one together. Anxiously awaiting.

Well actually from what I've seen in the trailer is that they basically took Rome: Total War and replaced the textures.
The gameplay in Rome: Total War fitted nicely with the strategy in the roman days, troops standing in line, calvary doing flank attacks, etc.
I really don't see that happen in the Star Wars universe where an AT-AT can take on an entire Rebel army and the Alliance's major strategy is basically hit and run.

Anyways, I'm trying to download the demo now, let's hope it is good.

It's not Rome. It's a bit like Dawn of War, though. I'll be getting it when it comes out.

Well I've played the demo and I liked it. But whether I'd buy it or not is debateable. I liked the reinforcement points and the seperation of land and space units. And the planet side of things between battles was good too, reminded me of fragile allegiance - only simplified (possibly a little too simplified). All in all it's shaping up to be a good game, but how good remains to be seen. Definetly better than Supremacy and Galactic Battlegrounds - not that that is saying much.
