Well, so far Im impressed with my cleric. I am currently level 11. I buffed myself up and tested him alone against vampires. The vampires went down one by one, no small part to Blade Barrier which does truly impressive damage.

Also Helm's Sword enables my cleric to have more attacs than any fighter.

Im playing on the difficulity one level up from the hardcore rules. Not quite ready for the most hardest, I think. And besides, I dont powergame, I dont make kensai/mages and such.

Ha! I entered the "improved" base of Bodhi with my fully buffed cleric. A *moment* later all of the vampires were "dead". Those who escaped the sunray, had to deal with a god like fighter surrounded in blades.

    Be a Ranger/Cleric...

    Dual-weild Crom Faeyr and FoA.
Let the baddies surround you, cast Nature's Beauty, Righteous Might and then lay waste to all you see. Doesn't get easier than that! :D

Holy Power, Draw Upon Holy Might and Righteous Magic produces a killing machine like no other. Add an improved haste and this Cleric will get you through any tough melee.
Clerics are also good for hanging in the back and casting support spells like Chant, hold person, Holy Smite, Doom, Mental Domination, Remove fear, Insect Plague. and all kinds of helpfull spells.

Can anyone give any suggestions to the 7th level spells? Your favourites, tactics etc.

To be powerful in this game, Clerics need to act as buffed melee-ers. If you have vanilla SoA, then I'm afraid Clerics just dont have enough firepower to make a go of it by just blasting everything...

Dual-classing from Fighter or Ranger is highly recommended. Just buff up to the gills with everything you have and then beat everything with FoA and Crom Faeyr.

@Mercury Star: Nature's Beauty is a great spell-(anyone viewing the disguised caster must make a saving throw vs. spells (+3 bonus) or die of longing for the denied illusion. Even if the saving throw is successful, hapless viewers of the transformed druid are all instantly smitten with permanent blindness. This spell does not affect party members.)
A blind opponent is a lot easier to deal with. Combine this with Creeping Doom:(Those trapped by the insects suffer 2 points of damage each second, and a spell failure rate of 100%.) So no one will be dispelling the blindness caused by Nature's Beauty. Blind creatures rarely move so cast fire storm where they stand and watch them take the full damage from it. Greater Elemental Summoning is an awesome spell. This spell summons one of the Elemental Princes to fight at your side. this is just a few of the level 7 spells I like.
