As the title suggests, I am wondering which of the two systems you would choose and why. Yes, they are both Nintendo, both innovative, and many would likely want both of them. However, at the moment I am thinking of buying one and only one of them (when i can find one in stock) and created this poll in hopes of getting some input on the matter.

Out of that choice I'd get a Wii.

If I were you though, I'd just get an XBOX360.

And support the Vole, nah. Besides, I don't have a TV capable of more than 420i resolution with standard TV speakers so a lot of what the 360 offers would go to waste (and i've got a decent computer for those visually intensive games). A Wii, on the other hand, doesn't rely so much on picture quality and the DS is entirely unrelated to the TV. Besides, when all is said and done, I couldn't afford a 360 (or a PS3 for that matter).

I have a DS.... although I would not get the lite due to the fact that it is not as durable, and when I bought my DS they did not have Lite anywhere but in Japan...

I'll get the DS I own one and it kicks ass. There is a lot of good games and the fact you can play anywhere is fun. Plus certain games has cool co-op or versus play (if your friends got one that is). The DS got the stylus, which is very innovative Metroid Prime is IMO the best shooter of handled consoles due to its stylus control. It's very fluid and cool.

I also played with a wii, at a friend's house. So far I've only played Fishing in Zelda (kicks ass you ACTUALY REEL THE FISH :D ) Wii sport (I pwn at Tenis) and Rayman Raving Rabbits (bunch of mini games). Also after 45-60 minutes of playing Wii sport your arms are sort of sore, so you cannot really have an all night with it.

The DS lite is 150 bucks and games 20-40 bucks each, a Wii, while still inexpensive compared the the Pee-ess-three and ex-box-three-sixty is still cost more than a DS.

The DS has got Beat Elite Agent and Trauma Centre. Both games Kicks ass.

DS pros; Inexpensive, Stylus control, Good library of games, co-op and multi play. Wi-Fi multiplay for some games.

Cons; small screen, battery powered (last for about 10 hours), Nintendogs (Worst.Game.Ever)

Wii pros; Cool at party, Wiimote, Inexpensive (compared to other mainstreams TV console). Internet, Wii Weather, Can download old school games

Cons; (so far) few good titles, worst graphics than others consoles, No HD support, Wiimote makes the arm sore after some times, Absolutely *need* wi-fi for internet

If you want advises on DS game you might want to PM me.

With that in mind cheers folks.

*shrugs* My "old" GBA SP does the job just fine, so I see no reason to get a DS anyway.

But out of the two... Wii. Two words and a half: Metroid Prime 3. Enough said.

Between Wii and DS, you have to realise that one is a portable gaming console, whereas the other is a full fledged gaming console! So which you should get depends on your needs...

If you want a better gaming experience, get the Wii, if you want portable gaming, get the DS.

If you don't care either way, get the Wii because games on this system will be getting more and more awesome with time as the system matures...

That, plus if the Wiimote bugs you after you've been playing a bit, just buy an old school controller for your Wii (you know, D-Pad plus A,B etc)

Hmmm...While I love the GameBoy line of Nintendo, I got to say that the Wii is friggn' awesome. One of my co-workers let me come over to try it out, and now *I* want it.

There are some downsides to the Wii: Limited screen resolution, no DVD player, and fewer titles compared to the others. But it's a lot cheaper, and it makes you get off the couch! :thumb: :rolling:

I like the Wii. Nintendo should be praised for innovation. Its nice to see a system that concentrates on fun and original ideas, rather than just pretty graphics.

The DS has lots of ****e games, but its still worth getting one for:

    Final Fantasy 3
    Advance Wars
    Resident Evil
    Metroid Prime Hunters
    Sonic Advance
    Mario games
    Ace Wright
and all the great GBA games of course.
