there is no extra stuff in this game unfortunately.

It's a shame too because the graphics and everything is soooo impressive. but the one thing that bothered me, I brought it up before in a previous post, is that you DONT get the feel of impact when you strike an enemy. I cant put my finger on it but its the same with Everquest: Champions of Norrath, The Two Towers, Return of the King, BG: Dark Alliance and BG: DA 2.

But in the action/rpg X-Men, you get the sense of being hit and landing hits. As I mentioned before, that game had a great engine suited for a hack & slash RPG

I gotta agree that this game was a lot of fun until the dragon scene. Drizzt was cool, and it flowed pretty smooth. It pees me off though, just like Prince of Persia, the save options. I mean if you are going to make a PC game out of it, at least make it better. I have to play through entire scenes again to finish one fight. That's why I can't recommend this game to anyone, but other than that it had a lot of good things going for it. Can anyone tell me how to kill the dragon using the PC. I have it stunned on the bridge and it just won't die!!! @#^%$#!!! This game got some serious issues. How the hell do I cast a hold spell?

[IMG] Just purchased Demon Stone for the PC yesterday. I thought it started out pretty good. When I got to the second level, I found myself trapped in the first part. I check Atari's forum and found this to be a recurring problem for Nvidia graphic card owners. As of now there is still not a patch to fix this problem. I figured I would post this as a warning to any PC owners interested in this game.

Has Tal or any of our more "hardcore" players got this and played it. From what I've read above it sounds like a boatload of crap for the PC and I wont' get it except from the $2 bin at the end of the year...

It's not that bad Khazraj, once you get past the frustration of the controls. There is a technique to each boss fight that unless you happen upon it (or read a walkthrough) will leave you terribly frustrated and unable to finish a scene. Then because of the savepoints, you have to start the scene all over again and the game loses it's impact. That's why I hate console games adapted for PC. It's the reason I uninstalled Prince of Persia: SOT. What it got going for it is great graphics, great looking weapons and armor that you can change at every level and an interesting plot. Drizzt is sure fun to play and the action is pretty good. Just have a walkthrough handy for boss fights! And did any one mention it is a DVD Rom game and not Cd Rom?

Khazraj, no, I couldn't get a review copy off Atari and I'm not going to buy it anytime soon either, I'm behind on my games as it is. But from all the reviews I've read it's nothing special. It's an action-adventure with a FR backdrop, and that's about it. Fun for a few hours, then off to the shelf.

I picked up this game solely because of the developer, I figured Atari had the Midas touch going... *sigh* oops. Very pretty game- graphics are awesome. Unfortunately the rest of the game is lackluster; there is no story at all and barely any plot- if there was a plot it was so thin I was unable to grasp it.

The first few levels were a bit of fun, running about killing mindlessly. Unfortunately the camera control is so bad I never worked up the motivation to finish the game- actually there is no camera control, it moves about but the player has no control over how and when. I wen't through most levels just attacking nonstop, I couldn't see what was ahead of me anyways.

The thing that really irks me though, is how little effort Stormfront and Atari made in translating this game from console form to PC- even the tutorial tells you to push 'the black button'.

    Well, thats my rant, blahdios.

Yea, I heard that it was poorly translated from the console version and not adapted at all. The thing is buggy to boot. In short, another "Atari classic".

I have and play ... (except right now I'm in BG I)... RISK II and Axis & Allies, both Atari published games and both games rock.

As I understand it Atari doesn't make the games they publish, they publish the games others make.

So Atari is batting a thousand with me; so far as the two games I've tried by them have been home run hits in my book...

[IMG] Or rather, others make games for Atari, which then publishes them. Atari has the licence for all D&D games, so only Atari gets to pick the developers and hire them to make a D&D game.

Well, if they ever release an anti-bug patch, which I"m sure no company ever does (patches mostly correct minor probs), I might consider buying. Unfortunately, you can't rent a pc game... (guess why)

So, I conclude from the huge lack of traffic on this Board, that this new game is not really setting the world alight? There's still infinitely more discussion on the Boards of games that were released years ago (and even on games that are still a long way from even being released).

[IMG] For anyone who had trouble finishing this game, the whole key is experience. Rack up the XP with super moves and against the yuan ti.

In the first battle with the yuan ti, before you break through the webbing on the raft, wait a while and make some easy kills of the things clambering aboard on the sides. You can stay here all day killing, racking up the XP. Next before you break through the webbing in the cave, whack all the little spiders coming at you for easy kills.

In the yuan ti temple, before you go and break the protection covering the Demonstone, whack the waves of yuan ti arriving at the base of the walkway. They will generate enough life hearts to keep you going and provide you with loads of XP to boost your fighting skills.

Hope that this is a good tip to all who got frustrated with the game and could not finish it. More XP means more levels. More levels means tougher characters with more powerful spells and fighting skills. It makes the game a whole lot easier in the later tougher fights.
