    Well, i killed the red dragon, freed iltha from her cell. she is under some kind of mind control spell. I had to use domination spell to get her to follow us to the exit but she will not go through the door. she is circled in red like an enemy. must get her home so i can finish the quest but how?

    I killed the mage with the key first upstairs, got her out of the cell, then killed the red dragon.

    this was on her before i met up with the dragon.

    Sounds like you hit her with some area effect damage while battling Firkraag's pet mage. AFAIK, you'll have to go back before that happened and be more careful...
