[IMG] Can anyone let me know what the heck to do at the knoll fortress? Stupid hamster loving space cadets! I've cleared the map and can't find a way in anywhere! The only thing I've found is a dead end corridor in the middle-middle (x,y) of the fortress which is a short dead end. Is there a secret door or something?

I got stuck there too... it's one of those stupid simple solutions: you can enter the prison pit things, there's some steps along the inside of each one. So, just go look there, and you might find something cool. Apart from that thing there's really not much to do there. I vaguely remember some cave, but don't quote me on that.

You don't actually go inside. As noted above, you can go down in the pits.

There is... (moderating the spoiler somewhat) more than one cave. And the loot is terrific so take the trouble to find them!

The most Eastern pit (the pits are in te north of the gnoll fortress) is most important. You can get into the pit. Here you'll find Dynaheir, a great good alligned mage that can join your party. When you have Minsc in your party you can keep them both in your party. When you have Edwin in your party (his goal is to kill Dynaheir) there will be a fight between Edwin and Dynaheir. In one of the caves you can find a tome that raises your Charisma by one permanently.

[IMG] Thanks guys. I've checked out the pits but found nothing interesting. I'll go scan the caves for the loot.

So what is this trapped princess thing that you're supposed to help nutso with? Is it a quest or just ramblings when you have him join your party?

it's ok if you rest on the side of the bridge that is not the side with the fortress on it. they won't spawn unless you are on the other side

Squid, you have 14 days to capture Dynaheir, else Minsc will have no patience anymore and leaves. You should do the quests a bit quicker next time, however you weas pretty close. :)

It's indeed not good to camp at the fortress, for many gnolls will be respawned then. Sleep in one of the caves before capturing Dynaheir and then sleep again after you left this freaky place.
