does anyone else think that there is too much money in the game ,i thought i would have to be careful but you dont.ive topped out at 98,000 and then bought all the stuff i wanted and this was in chap 2.i mean whats the point in having really cool items in the shop if you can afford them all there is no choice left i though one of skills of the game would be what to buy but it seems you can equip you characters and still have cash left over ,i just wish they had controlled the amount of money a little better,

and i know that the really cool stuff is only received for completing the quests.

surely thats gotta be a bug they iron out in playtesting ,whats the point in having a really nice item that you should have to work hard at to get and then allow you to get infinite money personally id rather see them ration the money a bit better so you appreciate the items more and look after what you buy/sell

i did quite a few side quests in chapter 2 and managed to collect over 1/4 million gold.

if you get Haer-Dalis in your group he has a very high pick pocket skill, last time i can remember it was 130, i managed to steal one of those gems that sell for over 1.5k and sell it back to him then steal it over and over, about the 8th time they caught me.

you don't need to steal to get enough money though just collect everything and sell it to the vendors, thats how i got my 1/4 mil.
    :) happy hunting :) :)

dont you think being able to acquire 250,000 gold is a bit pointless,it makes all the items in the game worthless cos you can just afford anything and not have to make decisions on what to purchase/leave ,i would have prefered a whole lot less money ,maybe a purse idea like in zelda on the n64,where your first purse holds so much and to acquire more gold you need to find a bigger purse i dunno anyway top game

[IMG] I have tried to sell stuff and then pickpocket it back but the guys have nothing on them. Even if you kill them which is a major annoyance. Am I selling to and then trying to steal from the wrong people (ie store men and Adv Mart in the Prom).

Chelsea (feeling as if I am the only person not getting it)

  10. Well, if you start doing the side quests you can get a ton of cash. I had 65,000gp by the time I had done 3 quests. Is there TOO much money? I am not too far along into the game, but so far I would say no. I'm trying to do as many side quests as possible before I move on with the story, and there is a lot of money and a lot of items in most of these. There's also a lot of good stuff to spend that money on (especially if you have the collectors disc).

I think the game rewards you pretty well, between the stuff find and the cash you can use to buy more, but not excessively so. I mean, hey I EARNED that! That's MY blood there on that stuff, buddy! Even if you get to a point where there's nothing good left to buy (which I doubt would ever hapen, stock up on some of the best arrows or darts and watch how fast your stash goes down), it will still be a point of pride when I get to a million or half a mil or whatever. The value of my currency is measured in the blood I shed to get it.

BTW, spend your money on spells, and trinkets & accessories to raise your stats. If you blow your gold on powerful weapons in shops, chances are you're going to be selling it back in a quest or two.
There weren't that many weapons I purchased, most were pried from someone's cold, stiffening hand. :D

chelsea: on most shops (unfortunately this doesn't include the adv mart :( ) there is a button in the buy screen that allows any of your thief to try to steal from the store.

There is a lot of gold, but also a lot of magical items --- too many if you ask me. It's such a maunty haul type game. Seems like everyone who is everyone has something magical, even tavern servants are walking around with Long Swords +1! ;)

    Syl...
