I've searched around, and cant find anything relevant. Im playing through Darkest Day with a ninja, mostly because of all the new thief kits available it looked the most appealing. I fully intended on dual classing later, but lo and behold, im unable to! Is this a glitch, do I have to wait until a certain minimum level to be able to dual class, or does this kit just not allow it. If the latter, I dont understand why it wouldnt say s in the kit description, when other thief kits did include that drawback in theirs. Is there a mod out there that will allow me to dual-class a ninja, but one that I've already started?

What's your Dex? Stupid question, but it might be one reason.

All you need to dual class to a fighter is:

    - 17 strength
    - be human
    - be level 2 or higher

The strength can be gotten around with potions or spells. Is your character human?

    EDIT: added level

-15 in your original class's prime requisite (dexterity).

You need 17 for Dual-classing. You can have a pure Fighter with Strenght 9, but for Dual-class you need 17.

thanks. i wonder why that is? should it work then if i go get girdle of hill giant stength then? if that enables dual class, can i take it off afterwards, or will that destroy the BG time-space continuum?

no, it only works with your base strength, so any enhancing items or potions wont make a difference.

either use shadowkeeper to give yourself two extra stat points (for balance reasons you can take two off, say constitution, that why its not really cheating) or dont dual class. if you 17 int you can dual to mage.

I was just wondering.... why don't you dual-class from fighter -> thief?

You get much more hit points that way and thiefs need less XP to level up (you get the fighter levels back faster).
After a certain point, you don't need anymore weapon profiencies and the only reason to have a fighter afterwards is because they swing harder (and that stops at level 21 or something).
Plus, you can ShadowKeep the ninja class after you dual-class. :p

because im playing with just my character and viconia until we can pick up edwin, so i needz me a thief. im having some serious problems surviving battles though; anybody know easiest way to kill a glabrezu when your best weapon is arbane's sword?

    CTRL+Y?

Leave the demon until you can use a +3 or better weapon. If it's the big one with wings, it can't fit through some of the doors.

i actually ended up throwing some wand of monster summoning to distract the demon, charmed some of the ogres that spawn with it (guarded compound, temple district, in pursuit of celestial fury), hid in the side rooms, then came with about seven rounds of magic missiles; i had to pick up edwin to beat it though, viconia and a ninja just cant do it alone early on!
