BG2 is a good game but it has minor flaws...
    And ONE HUGE flaw.
Not enough NPC's. Currently my swashbuckler/fighter(long bow dude) is looking for a good aligned fighter D cleric to replace Viconia and her evil ways of life.
My party needs a stronger fighter than Minsc since rangers suck in melee compared to berserkers and barbarians. I could use a better mage/cleric than Aerie but I have one slot left now so I could just throw Aerie out and have Conjurer and another fighter D cleric in my team.

note: I don't like playing multiplayer because the way you have to load a game...

What am I getting here is that the game needs an NPC generator. I would just go to Copper Coronet and ask Bernard
"Have you seen any adventurers for hire?"
Bernard - Aye, come with me.
Then FLASH! you are in the character generation screen where you can make a new NPC. When you make the NPC it will be spawned next to you and ask do you want him to join you if you say no, the character will be lost.

This takes me back to Darklands where you could do this!!!!! A 1992 game!

...just a small hint. If multiplayer-loading gives you the creeps simply copy your savegame in the BG2/save directory!

..about NPCs. Tal's right: Anomen is just your man (ups! don't get me wrong about that...). About NPC generator: that's like P&P or real life, you have to get along with things available. (but the idea is nice somehow). Sometimes you're not even satisfied with your other P&P members...

Start a multiplayer game with all your own premade characters. Save the game. Go to your multiplayer save game directory. Take the save game and cut and paste it into the single player save game directory. Make sure it doesn't overwrite one of your old saves. There you have it.

After playing a Multiplayer game, you'll learn that Single Player NPC's are not as powerfull as you can make a char in multiplayer. Well I don's the problems with loading a multiplayer session for my pc is fast enough but I can understand you don't like it :)

I think if that were to be implimented it would be better if the game made the NPC and not you.
