Greetings, I have a pc with XP on it and am attempting to run TOEE. The game is new and in perfect condition. However, after installation (every installation), I attempt to play the game by the three different means to do so (cd, program files, and shortcut) I have no luck at bringing the game to load. What will happen is I will double click to start the game, my cursor acts as if it's loading, then program appears on the task bar as if it's loading/clickable, then it dissapears and I'm left to double click again. In
other words, when I click to start the game, it looks like it's loading, then goes back to nothing after a few seconds. I have tried the three patches with no luck. I have even tried replacing the .exe file with on that was recommended. This didn't work either. I'm stumped! I've played this
game on windows 98, so why isn't it working here? I'm so psyched about playing this game! Is there anything I can do? Help me Tech Support, you're
    my only hope!

Do you have the SP2 installed? Then you need the patches 1, 2 and 3.

SP2? I have no clue what that is. But I did use all three patches in the order that was instructed (1, 3, 2). I'm completely stumped, here.

SP2 is Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. You should only install the patch #3 if you have SP2, I believe.

I just bought the game today and I too, am having the same problem as Zell Viper.

I used the 3 patches from the Atari website, but it still isn't loading, and I never heard of the SP2 thing. Can someone please link me to that, as I've been unable to find it! :D

This might be an issue related to CD copy protection.

You might do a search for a no-CD crack version of your game (make sure to download the exe that corresponds to your particular patch version), rename your current game executable and place the cracked version of the exe in its place. If the game works, then you have both diagnosed and fixed your problem :) . If not, well, let us know....

As far as SP2 is concerned, to find out what SP you are running, simply open "My Computer," go to Help and About. You will see your Windows version and Service Pack version displayed (among other things). If you want to get SP2, you can download it from Microsoft from their Windows Update site. It's a pretty lengthy download/install process.

OK i'm having the same problem that these guys were. I tried the things that were suggested above...none of it worked.

    Windows XP/SP2

    amd athlon 3700+
    gforce 7800gtx
    2 gigs of ram

no reason my comp shouldn't run this game that I can see...any help would be appreciated.

Okay, I have the same problem (game hangs as it looks for disc, then nothing). I have SP2 installed.

When I install Official Patch 2, the game runs fine, but I can't loot bodies. So I install Official Patch 3, which causes this problem.

    I've tried a No-CD crack, it didn't work.

Yeah, I ended up doing that. I wanted to keep it just to the game without the third party patches (which I have done before, the game USED to work fine for me), because I really don't like third-party content in my games. But whatever works.
