well it me again (when will i learn to shut up?) i have been soloing with my fav class in the game, the jester. Jesters are my favorite class because they best sute my personallity. But i was wondering, sice i have no idea on how to make items and put them in a store in the game i was wondering if any of you could do it for me and then put the files somewhere where i can get to them. the item i wnat the most is chain mail called "he fools skin". it will look much like the chain mail you get in the astral prison for bards. the armour brings your base armour class down to 4 and gives you regeneration 1 hitpoint every round. the armour would also give you a 1 point charisma bounus while equipped but would cost $25000. the second item would be "the boots of a traveler" these boots would grant improved haste, free action, and cost $20000. the third item would be "gauntlets of magicness". these would reduce spell casting to 1 and grant 30% magic resistance but cost a whopping $60000. another item would be "girdle of acting" this item would grant a charisma bounus of 3, give you 10% magic resistance, and invisability while equiped. the girdle would cost $50000.

i think something along those lines should be made because bards have really no items to strive to get in this game making being a bard less fun. i also think someone should make a new bard kit

Those are some way overpowered items. Gauntlets especially and boots too. It's OK if you want them but they would seriosly unbalance the game and I don't think "something along those lines should be made."

 

But a kit for Bards would be cool though. Especially the way the Bard songs were implemented in IWD2, where you get different songs as you level up. That would be cool instead fo the same song depending on your kit.

 

You want boots that permanently double the number of attacks? I'm not sure if you intended these to be usable only by bards, but at least they shouldn't be usable by warriors or barbarians.

 

I would have said there was a few good items the bard can use.
1. Harp of Pandemonium
2. Bladesinger Chain
3. Amulet of Power
4. Weapon(s) of choice - the bard can use any weapon so take your pick
5. Loads of other items

When you reach TOB the Bard become ridiculously powerful and an even greater choice of powers.

By all means make a new Bard kit, I am sure it would be well received, but make sure it is balanced.

As to equipment...
1. The fools skin - just where the melodic chain and pickpocket the Ring of Regen
2. Boots of a Traveller - Too powerful. Just use a Blade, for extra attacks, with boots of speed
3. Gauntletts of Magicness - Maybe reduce casting by 1 and 5-10% magic res
4. Girdle of Acting - Charisma +1or2, 5-10% magic res, invis 1-3 times per day
