Hi! Me and my friends want to play BG2 and everyone would like to use his single player character..we have:
    Cavalier - human
    Fighter/cleric - half-orc
    Swashbuckler - halfling
    Archer - elf
    Blade- half-elf
and then we want Imoen, of course...

The problem: do you think that we have few cleric abilities?

    Thanks!

Not at all. Speaking just for myself, I find that priests (meaning clerics and druids) are the least essential of the 4 basic classes, but that may just be my playing style (which is basically melee). So for me, your group looks just fine. Who you use when you don't have Imoen is really a matter of preference; I'd take either a mage of some kind (although your blade could be sufficient) or another tank.

Thank's a lot! My playing style is melee too, than I'm ok! When I don't have Imoen I have plained to alternate all the npc to do all the quest! Thank's!

(like all my other post, sorry for the bad English...)

No not really. Your Cavalier has decent enough Paladin abilities and your archer will get ranger spells after a while so I wouldn't think you so short on cleric abilities. What you are short on however is some arcane spellcasting.....

While additional archane (ie. mage) spells aren't essential, I'd agree with Razal'dar that they would definitely be useful. ;)

Edit: @ Jericho - don't worry about your English - we can understand what you are saying just fine. :D

I think Clerics are really important... I have a fighter/cleric right now and it's a pain going through the game so far because I don't have any healing at all!!! and potions just run out too fast

I NEVER seem to run out of potions. Ive' gotten to the point where I don't even have my Cleric memorize very many of the lower level healing spells, because potions work better. Course, I play with so damn many mods that have enemies which drop extra potions that they're a lot easier to come by.

For the record I've only since twice or thrice drank a healing potion in BG2, and it was out of pure necessity. (ie, the Ravager bearing down on a certain cornered M/C)

In some of my parties, I only had Jaheira as the healer, so as long as your Fighter/Cleric devotes a lot of slots for Mass Heal or Heal, you'll be fine.
You'll need to rest more in earlier levels, though.
