Only when both charms (Dire charm and my charm person) ran out he became hostile and there don't seem anyway to get him back. And silly me didn't save before the encounter with Sirens. HELP!!!!

[IMG] How could he become hostile? Once everything wears off he should be back to normal. A character only attacks back if you keep hitting him/her. If you select the whole party and click them to move to another spot on the map they should be back to normal.

If your char is still hostile he must be under some spell effect still.

Wow, that's rough, well you must have an auto-save from before you entered the area...

so theoretically the worst that can happen is that you have to re-explore the sector.

the charm of sirens lasts a long time, keep ur characters away from the charmed person until it wears off, try using hold person to keep them in 1 place so u can run away

You can check on the character screen if there are any spell effects. For example: charmed.

[IMG] Nah its not a spell affect I checked that as well. I think its a glitch in the game. The sirens charmed him so he is hostile, then I charmed him so he is friendly, but instead of returning to normal twice (if that makes sence) he only returned to normal once leaving him in a hostile mode.

ie. No one attacked him at all I turned AI off before he got charmed so he is passive and does nothing and my party does nothing either.

I've going to try to see if charming him and then finding some siren to attack so they dire charm him again leaving him in a similar situation as before and allowing the spell to wear off naturally.

You can at least charm him again with the cloak of Algarnon of you have that. Another good thing that nobody mentioned jet is to hold him so he can't damage your party.

Dispel don't work against charm does it?

The problem is that he ISN'T charmed. It's so wierd. I even charmed him then got him dire charmed again and let the charm run out first but that didn't help either. Its a funny glitch..well be warned DO NOT CHARM someone who is dire charmed :(

Oh by the by, in my game I've got Algarnon cloak but I can charm with it. Same with the cloak of wolf I can transform into a wolf. Any reason why not? Removed in patch or something?

I just did e few minuts ago. I am also in the Lighthouse area and a character got dire charmed by a sirine. I used the cloak and charmed him and he just wasn't hostile anymore... I don't know if a normal charm spell has the same effect (for the charm of the cloak seem sto be powerful)

Tal ---> when a partymember gets charmed by a sirine he will attack you (at least when he is close enough to your group)

No a normal charm has same effect. It just depends on the order of charming. So if I charm first and dire later dire takes effect and vice versa

And also you can prevent charmed char from attacing your group by turning AI off before being charmed. When they are charmed the computer has no script to follow. Cool huh!

That never worked for me; I always have the AI turned off and yet charmed party members would attack.

It's some weird bug, happened to me the first time when I last time played. Davaeorn dire charmed my druid, I charmed her back, and for some reason when the spells ran off, my main character had that red circle, I couldn't select her but she didn't attack me. The only thing that would have worked would've been to constantly cast charm on her. And this was the first time I had installed all the patches, without them the charm tactic worked just fine... *sigh*

Headbanger, obviously. I was reffering to the time AFTER the charm spells wear off. Then his char should be back to normal and not hostile.

Happened to me too. Even dispel magic is useless here, so the only thing you can do is reload...if you can.

Doesn't Dire Charm last for like 24 hours? It might still be working after the other charm spell ran out. I'm probably wrong, but I thought that was why it was more powerful than a normal charm.

If you want to avoid being charmed use summoned monsters and skeletons as fodder to waste all of the sirens spells. that is what I always do. Arrows also disrupt them while they are casting dire charm

Moridin can be right, maybe the dire charm works longer.... AT least, when I just "re-charm my character with Algarnon's Cloak I don't have problems anymore.
