    SPOILER!!!

It's northeast of the Friendly Arm Inn. First finish the mines and kill Tranzig. Or go to the Wood of Sharp Teeths. There you encounter Bandits. You can say to them that you wanna join the bandits. Then you also get there.

After you've dealt with Tranzig in Beregost, it should show up on your map. Then go to the forest areas east of Friendly Arm and north.

    *Spoiler below*

You might want to join them if you aren't tough enough to kill them all.

    [edit: Bleh, too slow]

I like to join them, get run of the camp (and avoid fighting Tazok), get what I need and then kill them all. That's always fun. Of course to join them you have to be a smoothtalker as saying the wrong things can get you in trouble.

I always preferred the direct approach and steam rollered my way across the camp, never had any problems with killing them all.

First time I played, I didn't even realize you could do anything other than joining them. I talked to Drizzt and he suggested I infiltrate, so that's what I did. I killed them all eventually though.

I have tryed it both ways and IMO steamrolling them is the better way to do this. I found bandit camp easy (but then again I did almost all of the other quest befor going there I didnt tangle with the sirens but did everything but.) Also my main charictor is a fighter with 3x proficencie in bow and I use an archer heavy party (only one without a ranged attack and normally had a wand of magic missile) so I could train fire with the bandits at an easy two to one ratio with more acurate fire. Only one I ever had problems with was the dude in Full Plate I just tangled him up or used Command word: Die.

If you decide not to infultrate the camp, and just outwardly attack it, do you still get to fight Tazok?

No. You will not encounter him in that case. That should be a pity for he has the great Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise and 4000 XP. (and it's the goal of Kivan to kill him so when you got him in the party you really should do it that way)

taugosz Khosan was very easy for me because he uses blunt weapons. My main pc took him out alone without being touched. All I did was equip him with a good armor (full plate I think), a gridle of bluntness, and drink the potion of absorption. By the end I had a modified AC of -15 or -16 to blunt weapons!

For most of the camp, ranged weapons are the way to go (actually that applies to the whole game).

[IMG] But if anyone thinks dear old Taugosz is hard to kill, just cast "hold" on him.

But is it a choice between Tazok (infiltrating) OR steamrolling? Off course not. Meet the bandits, say you wanna join. She'll be brought to the Bandit Camp. Tazok recognizes you. Kill Tazok, get 4000 XP and his great gautlets and THEN you can still steamroll the whole encampment, the bandits just get hostile when they see you, take their scalps, and have to good final fight!

Note and spoiler: In the chests outside, (there are many in the bandit camp) many +1 items, wands and potions that are also worth a lot of money can be found. It's good to learn some knock spells and open the chests you can't lockpick with it.
