Gary Gygax wrote two series set on Oerth (the world of Greyhawk) and a couple of books from there were based in Greyhawk: Artifact of Evil and... I forget the other one. They were very good.

The Demon Hand was set there. Read it way back in the '80s (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...104-8153556-5648742?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 .. Tal can SP-ify the link ;) )
It sucked, but was set in Greyhawk.

Also check out the GORD THE ROGUE books (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...f=sr_1_3/104-8153556-5648742?v=glance&s=books)

There was a whole Greyhawk Adventures series, kicked off by the "Saga of Old City" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...f=sr_1_7/104-8153556-5648742?v=glance&s=books) ... I think there were 5-6 books in this.

I've got "Saga of Old City" and "City of Hawks" - thought I had the rest of the books but can't seem to find them now!

I don't mind scanning them in - which e-mail address so I send them to?

The first three books of that series are about Gord the Rouge and his adventures, the last 3 are about Mika of the Wolf tribe. Gords adventures are continued in a seprate saga by Gary Grygax, the books are (im not sure if they are in order)Sea of Death, Dance of Demons, and Come Endless Darkness.

dshadow, no point. Those books are all out of print, you can only buy them used via Amazon. The ones on SP are the only ones that are still in print.

[IMG] If you want to read some of the worse prose immaginable as it defines power-gaming in an uber character (Gord) then read Gygax's Dance with Demons. Absolutely horrendous. I liked the first three books in the Gord the Rogue series as it gives you a good feel for what Gygax had in mind for Greyhawk. But Dance with Demons is so bad it is laughable. It's like Gygax's rumored meglomania coming through Gord, destroyer of demondom by the thousands, in a single encounter, without receiving a single scratch. I'm not making this up.

I've read Dance of Demons myself and it really is that bad. I wondered if Gygax was drunk or something when he wrote it because it's such a come down from the first three books.

Well, I have read *has a sudden memory loss* um, what's it called.... *checks the page* Queen of the DemonwebPits. Now, I like this book, especially the way Lolth is portrayed... and some of the other characters are hilarious, too. I mean, someone having been reincarnated as a Badger? A sentient sword prissier than your average elf? Hilarious.

But Lolth takes the cake, definitely :D

[IMG] Yes, I've just finished Queen of the Demonweb Pits. A bad story, but hilariously written.

I never knew Lolth was your average schoolgirl *****... :D

Tomb of Horrors, Against the Giants, Temple of Elemental Evil are novels based on the campaign modules they are named after. All are set in gray hawk, if i'm not wrong.

[IMG] "White Plume Mountain" (ISBN 0786914246) is out of print. Unfortunate as it seems to be a good read.
    (It's still listed here )

Well, it might still find its way to the Amazon Marketplace(s), so as long as Amazon still lists it, it'll stay there.
