"The Last Lord of the Ring" is a book by K V Yeskov; it is (from what I have heard) about the events of LOTR from the Orcs' and the Easterlings' point of view (i.e. about the Elvish invasion of the peaceful land of Mordor). Did anyone here read it? Is it worth buying?

Quite an interesting premise, but not quite sure if it would work well. Still I'll read it if it's recommended.

[IMG] Do you have more info on the book, publisher, ISBN, place or date of publication. I have no listing on any book site for "The last Lord of the Ring' or K V Yeskov. Are you sure on the title and author? Have you seen this book or only heard about it? What language is it printed in?

Well. My fault. Sorry. I thought there exists an English translation, but there is none. (The book was written in Russian.)

For those more interested in the premise and style and all, I found a couple of pages of this on a publisher's page, and did a quick translation. I sent it to be uploaded to SP.

Beware, though, it's a translation-of-a-translation, and so it'll not be too precise (although I tried to translate it as well as I can, I'm not a professional, so the results may vary). But I think it still shows the style pretty well.

And I now think it's a great story. I did buy the book, and I hope someone will venture an English translation (I can't speak Russian, but would like to compare at least the two translations.)
