I'm soloing with my multi-class mage/thief and in d'Arnise Keep I found a scroll of Find Familiar. I use it, and nothing.
I think that I moved during the spell casting but I did not receive any message like "spell failed" or something.

What's the problem? This spell must be cast outside?

Nope, it should be ok to cast this spell inside. What might confuse you though is that the familiar is quite small and doesn't appear in the list of characters portraits at the side of the screen. So you might have missed the poor thing on the screen. There is also a bug problem (especially if you are unpatched) and the familiar can simply dissapear when you leave an area.

I reckon you should go back to were you cast the spell and look around to see if there are any small animals looking abandoned. If there aren't reload your most recent save or autosave and try the spell again.

Actually, that spell CAN fail. But on random, not because you're indoors. Find another scroll.

[IMG] are you sure you followed the intructions right??

Let's say you're true neutral ok??
When you find a rabbit (probably in D'arnise Area) cast the spell on it!
The familiar will apear if the spell is not wasted.
Right click on the scroll to see what kind of familiar your alignment gets. :)

Actually, find familiar does NOT work with rabbits, you CAN cast spells indoors, if you pause after casting the spell, you will find a circle around you're familiar, and I agree with extrimist, spells CAN fail without a say so.

    Not in my experience!

[Ah! Another very Sly retort in a year-old thread! Well done! Perhaps the IOTW plaque needs dusting off... - BTA]
