[IMG] Whats your favourite wizard school? We have personal favourites.Dragu`s favourite is evocation.Prefers offensive damaging spells:fireball,DB fireball, chain lightning,Mordekainen SWD,chromatic orb etc.Barud`s favourite school is Enchantment.Prefers:Hold person,Domination,Feeblemind, and most of the ENC spells. We both really admire the necromancy school since spells like Wail of the Banshee,Horrid wilthing,Animate dead and other useful spells are there.

Conjuration, because it's imo the most diverse.

I like Evokation, because it's got the most damaging spells, and Necromancy because I'm evil!

    Grammar-school!
Actually, I don't know, but I trust that Faragon has chosen a good one. I will rely on him again.
I like the druid spells, I suppose that would be transmutation and conjuration.

Transmutation for slow and Enchantment for Confusion and Chaos. I can't number how many times these spells saved my butt. More so than DB Fireball.

[IMG] Am I the only one who likes Illusionists?
I play a Halfling Illusionist9/Rogue4 at the moment and he rocks. The spells he loses out on, Conjurative, are useful indeed sometimes, but the whole....feel...of an illusionist is just too alluring.
"The prospect of having an enemy rush toward you in bloodlust, and your wily old wizardly rogue suddenly dissappearing from sight with a woosh, followed by the appearance of 10 of him surrounding the enemy, holding him in place while letting spells fly into his fragile body. After taking him out, the spellcaster dissapears from sight, ready to ambush yet another unsuspecting enemy..."

    *sigh*
    Good ol' Roleplaing :D

    necromancy.

it is more of a role-playing decision most of the time, because from a strictly powergaming view it probably isnt worth giving up illusion and enchanment.

but, I have always played evil parties, and necromancy fits right into that...

also, I actually like the opposite school restrictions for necromancers, because it kind of forces your party to tackle everything by force, instead of dominating or charming some creatures and then killing them. my party marches in and just hands them their arse.

    like real adventurers.

    ;)

I vote for "Necromancy" if we speak of liking the spells. However, if we speak of choosing a school for my wizard, it is "Divination" for sure. You sacrifice summoning spells mostly which is not a big deal where you still have "Animate Dead". Summoning can be handled by your cleric too.
