[IMG] Okay, i will be honest, I hate gnomes.

Oswald bugs me, so does his niece, and so did everyone in the cartoon David the Gnome.

    So do lawn gnomes..

Anyways; I've heard some good things about the tiny buggers..

Does anyone who tends to play them actually have any good advice?

    IE: Class, weapons, feats, Uses..

    ETC>

Pro's and Con's people.. Anything to help me out.

[IMG] I haven't played IWD2, so correct me if I'm wrong, but don't deep gnomes make some kickass monks?

Gnomes could be decent...everythings, really. Plus, their mage avatar looks quite cool. On top of that, Oswald is voiced by the guy who voiced Jan Jansen and Maralie is voiced by Aerie...(Hmm, so she calls both Quayle and Oswald Uncle? Hmmm...I smell a conspiracy!)

Deep Gnomes has huge stat bonuses. They could be good priests (+2Wis), Mages (+2Int, I think?), or Rogues (+2Dex). The three level penalty really hurts however.

deep gnomes can be excellent characters, as long as you are aware of, and plan for, the severe ECL restriction...

they are one of only 2 char that has a Wis bonus...

and they also have a +2 Dex

the combo of +2 Wis/Dex can result in an excellent monk build...

they have a +2 to all save throws

and they have amazing spell resistance

    they have +2 hide/search

and they also have the innate ability to cast invisibility, blur, and mirror image each once per day...

imho, they make excellent monks, and they can also be great choices for other classes as well... with the +Dex/hide, innate spell ability, svae throw bonus, and spell resistance, they could make an excellent rogue/scout as well, being used as a decoy/target for your sorc/wiz to cast spells at while he is surrounded...

with the +Wis bonus the svirfneblin could also make a good druid (roleplaying justification is your responsibility) or a cleric...

in fact, the deep gnome might make an excellent cleric of mask, and perhaps be able to serve as teh party scout and cleric...

they are slow to level, of course, but can become very powerful at high levels...

While I don't play w/ Deep Gnomes (really severe ECL, come on, 5000 XP for level 2?), by looking at the stats, I have come to the conclusion that they'll make good scouts/clerics. But I'd rather have a Shield Dwarf anyday.
