It's very odd, But sometimes the game decides to go into a zombie behavior: it drops the resolution to 640x480, drops out of fullscreen, and the 640x480 portion of the screen remains black while the IWD2 task is still running, yet doing nothing.

    Anyone has any suggesstions?
Geforce 2 MX here, latest nVidia drivers.
Also a MoBo with a VIA Chipset, 4in1 drivers are latest aswell.

Any nVidia drivers from the last couple of years have been known to cause various problems with IE games. Try finding some 2-3 year old drivers.

Well, I Tried every major revision from 70.xx down to 30.xx, And its still crash happy as hell (Im doing the chapter 1 raid the orc fortress quest now), So i think i'll try one more revision (29.xx or 28.xx) and then just give up and go back to the latest ones. It's kinda odd, the one i have now (32.xx) is from 08/2002, around when IWD2 was released. It was crash happy even when released?

And im guessing no one tried to do some 3rd party patch in order to avoid such issues?

Actually, it's more likely that this problem is related to something else than your graphics card. The game doesn't crash normally.

Probably. I'll try upgrading the rest of the drivers (im a bit behind on the RealTEK drivers) and try again. It doesnt exactly crash, it sorta drops out of fullscreen back to a 640x480 blackscreen window, and the process stops responding anymore.

Im getting a new card in a few months anyway, Perheps its a specific problem with mine, maybe not. (geforce2mx -> 6600GT)
