Tech Support?

    Okay, I honestly saw nothing for technical support on the site or forums, aside from the JavaIRC room, but it doesnt let me connect for some reason.

    Hoping I did not place this in the wrong area I will continue, my apologies if I did.

    Okay, so, I have a very old gateway computer that I used to run BG2 on, it ran fine. But I really dont use that computer anymore, I use a custom one, I can apply the specs if needed.

    The game installs correctly, but, when I run the game certain things in the game just do not work, ive tried reinstalling, restarting, and all other sorts along the basic line, the game just wont run correctly. The in game chat wont work, more than half of the buttons in game do not work, I dont know whats wrong at all.

    So, any support on how to fix the game would be great.

    I had a problem once, it kept thinking i was pressing some buttons, which i didn't. So i just rebootet computer and all was good again.
    Tried rebooting?

    Ziad beat me to the link, but I can tell you that you should install the SoA patch if you have only SoA without the expansion (as your forum choice would indicate), and only the ToB patch if you've got the expansion installed.

    OKay so, say you have SoA, and not ToB, and I put the SoA patch in, then later I decide to install ToB and apply the ToB patch, do I then need to remove the SoA patch in order to have SoA+ToB+ToB Patch?

    No, you just install ToB and the ToB patch over it.

    Well, the biggest thing would be if you installed the SoA patch over ToB, which would screw up a lot of things. Installing SoA and its patch, then ToB and its patch later should work fine AFAIK.
