    See this... I have a fighter/druid/sorcerer dual-wielding axes. Primary hand - battleaxe(d8). Offhand - handaxe(d6).

And i get penalties as if i'm wielding another large weapon. I've tried with short swords and i dont get such a penality there(-4, -4).
Wielding handaxe should reduce it to -2, -2. :(

Even the description says handaxes make an ideal offhand weapons.

    so... whats the trick?

I'm not sure what you're saying. If you're claiming that a handaxe should give you less of a penalty in the off hand than a short sword in the off hand, that's not right - it should be the same.

    Yeah, exactly!

It should give the same Attack Bonus.

But handaxe gives the -4, -4 penalty as if it were another big weapon.
But handaxe, shortsword should give the same... But seems they dont.

If I'm not wrong, handaxe is still considered as a martial(sp?) weapon as like battleaxe(because, there is only 1 weapon feat for axe and axe is generally considered as a martial(sp?) weapon). So I guess, it will give the -4,-4 penalty as if it were another big weapon.

It's a bug. The handaxe was supposed to be a small weapon, like a short sword or dagger, and as such you should be able to dual-wield it with only a -2/-2 penalty. Obviously, this is not the case.
