Well you must have a decent level monk to teach combat techniques to the monk girl in the Black Raven sleeping quarters.

Other than that I dont remember any other such checks.

I don't think it's your level that matters when talking to Pairi. I had a level 9 Sorcerer talk to her (no level squatting) and it did nothing. I believe what matters is your Charisma score.

When a sorcerer talks to Pairi in the Wandering Village, she asks to be taught.

I've been level-squatting so my 2 sorcerers of Level 7 - couldn't do it. :( When I levelled one up to level 12 - it worked fine. :D

Do you know what the treshold level is for this additional quest?

Are there many character level thresholds checks in quests?

    thanks

Ok, I would go along with the Charisma thing.. but level 7 sorcerer had a starting charisma of 21 (Aasimar), whilst the sorcerer I levelled up to 12 had a starting charisma of 18 (human) so with 2 ability point additions had a charisma of 20 (I think), when I got the exp. points for teaching Pairi.

Perhaps I tried to get the points at the wrong point in the game, - as soon as I arrived at the village and before I talked to anyone else or had completed any of Suoma's quest.

You can't really help her anymore if you're unable to help her the first time. You have to have the high Charisma score with your Sorcerer (and it MUST be a Sorcerer) before you talk to her. However, having a high Charisma with your Sorcerer SHOULD be a given, considering you can't cast any high-level spells without a good Charisma score (10+spell level). That being said, your Charisma should always get maxed out at character creation before you ever focus on the other stats.
