Hi, I recently re-installed win2k sp4 with all updates on my old computer (P3-650), and I also updated directx (to 9.0c), video (Intel 810), and sound drivers to newest versions. Since then, I couldn't start Icewind Dale II. Everytime I doubli-click on IWD2.exe, I get application error immediately. DrWatson's log says "access violation (c0000005)". I tried re-installing the game but that didn't help.

Does anyone here have the same problem and/or know the cause and fix ? Thanks !

P.S. Icewind Dale doesn't work either, but it doesn't even produce application error. Instead, it just quits automatically.

Just in case that anyone else has the same problem... It turns out that Icewind Dale I and II conflict with Tiny Personal Firewall v5.5. The problem went away after I switched to the (less secure) early version of Tiny Personal Firewall.
