I'm going to start a new game and want to play my char. (bard?? or a fighter dualled to mage) in BGI, II and ToB....
I want to be chaotic good and have in my party:
    Kegain
Shar teel (dual her to thief)
    Branwen

Who else can i have in my party???

And is it true that in BGI it's possible to dual a fighter to a specialist mage???
    Any suggestion

You want to be chaotic good and you have 2 evil characters in your party? That is going to be difficult to kepp everybody satisfied.

And yes you can dual to a specialist mage.

Edwin is a excelent evil mage and can be get early in the game. Taka Safana (chaotic neutral) as thief (and then let Shar-Teel be a pure fighter)

Safana has too many points in thieves abilities i don't use much......and Shar-Teel is not a very good fighter so i think she's better dualled. This way i can give her the skill points in the abilities i prefer.
    About Edwin i agree.

She could roll a Paladin or a Ranger and then play them evil. They will become "fallen". But fallen paladins/rangers are less useful than a regular fighter...

    Even ranger can fall??
I think that a fallen paladin is really unuseful...he becomes a warrior without the warrior abilities.
Anyway i'll make the character i've said before because been able to dual to a specialist mage is really great....hope there will be no problems in importing this character in SoA......and why they didn't allow to dual a fighter to a specialist in SoA????

I believe the reason they don't allow it is because specialist mages are essentially kits for mages. In BG2, they don't allow any class to dual to a kit (easily gotten around by using shadow keeper though, and well worth it for the fun combos it allows), so that's why they don't allow you to dual to a specialist mage.

    Now for an evil party...

    You (fighter/mage)
    Kaigan
    Shar-teel
    Tiax
    Quayle
    Xzar

You've got all your bases covered. You've got three fighters, a thief, 2 clerics, and 3 mages. An all around good.....er, evil party that is :D Some people like Edwin better, and I can see why. I just prefered having an evil Necromaner as great as Xzar in my party. Great lines, and his spells ain't that bad, especially with 2 other mages in your party.

    I'd suggest

    Viconia - cleric
    Montaron - fighter/thief
    Shar Teel fighter
    Edwin - mage
and use Xar until you get Tiax, 'cos after all, he rules! :D
And if you do keep Xar until you get to Baldurs Gate before you dump him you can do the Zhentarim sub plot.
Thats who'd i take because i think they're cool characters and should compliment your main character perfectly. :)

I'm sorry, this is off the subject... but in regard to Vermillion's last post...

What's the Zhentarim subplot? Is that a sub-quest, or is it just when those mages above the magic shop in baldur's gate talk to you?

The mages in Sorcerous sundries whe you come upstairs and have Xar in your party. Asked me to do stuff last time i done that. They talk a bit if you only have Montaron in your party but din't give you a quest because Xar isn't there, and if you have neither, they're easy XP and items for any one who likes throwing fireballs and using their necklace of missiles when they stroppy ;)

I would suggest (for a great rp experience):

Main character : Half-elf chaotic neutral Bard

Kaigan : as the main tank

Shar teel : dual to a thief (no point to put in pick-pocket since you're a bard. And after her back-stabb She'll be able to handle herself in a fight)

Viconia: the best priest in the game

Edwin: lots of memorizing slot!!! The most powerfull mage in the game...(Xzar is funnier though...)

With that you can experience a "marginal" class as a bard and still have a complete strong party....

    Bah! You forgot Sarevok.

A party without him can't be the best.

a perfect party you say? there is no such thing. The perfect party is the one with the most experience, and if Sarevok's party had a good AI, he could wipe the floor clean with any party anyone could come up with in BG.
