Is there any way for my monk to fight like... a monk?

Ok, do these guys ever kick like they did in BG2?

I'm playing a Human Male Monk, and I know it worked in BG2, and IWD2 is a more recent game. I'm confused.

[IMG] Yup, but it's not that straightforward. The guide is here on SP, but I've not tried it myself. There's a bit of mucking around with NI & DKII involved. I wonder if there are any courageous modders listening who could package a WeiDU mod to do the same thing... please?

EDIT: Ooh, and if they could put BGII-style scimitar animations back in too, then they'd definitely be deserving of a cookie! :D

Near Infinity can be found at: http://www.idi.ntnu.no/~joh/ni/

I hear that the Beta is more stable than the "full" version, bizarrely*. NI will let you browse through all aspects of Infinity Engine games: weapons, .bam files, areas... It's also strangely addictive... :shake:

    * But this is only a hazy recollection from trawling the fora at ppg, and not to be trusted too much...

Why don't you do it yourself? Sounds like a nice little beginners mod :shake: . No?

I can get the program to open, but the "rename" option is greyed out.

C'mon, there must be someone on this board (the site where the freakin' thing is detailed!) that knows how to do this!!

    I GOT IT!!!

Okay, the directions on this site should be changed so that dummies like me can change their Monks!

    1) You need to put that Near Infinity program in your IWDII folder, where IWD2.exe file is located.

    2) You need to extract those files into the IWDII folder.

    3) You can then close NI. Go to the IWDII folder, and rename THOSE files.

4)Drag those files into the override folder.

Now you have a KICKING (human/subraces only) Monk!

    YES!!!!

Thanks. I'm bumping this because I need it again, and thought I'd share this really cool little tidbit with some new people. :)
