ok, the first one, (iron wardstone)is being held by an orc leader in the hallway before the decanter goblins. if you killed him and dont pick it up, all the other items will disappear but the wardstone alone will remain. just scroll your screen over the area while holding alt. it should be highlighted.

The second one, (i think its clay...) is on the body of a hobgoblin near the pens for the cows, dogs and cats. like the other one, it wond disappear.

[edit] you need to hold on to them until you are actually inside the fortress. (the main inside building, not the outside.) after that, you can get rid of them.

You have them mixed up urgazhi, the black one is on the orc and the iron ward stone on the hobgoblin. But he is right, they will not disappear and you do need them to enter the actual fortress itself.

Black or white, red or green.

There's two stones you have to pickup.

There is one in the southwest part of the area map. It's one someone, and they drop it when you whack them. Hold down that ALT key, and pickup every single object that is laying on the ground. If your inventory gets full, put some of the junk on one of the nearby tables. In the area you should be looking in, there should be a whole line of tables and chests, some of which are locked.

The other stone is right before you get to the place where you need it. There is a "crossroads"; a hub that splits off into about four different directions. There are cows in a pen to the east of this hub. There will be a stone somewhere on the ground, here.

If you have left long enough, it's very possible they may have disappeared. I dunno. A reload might be in order.

As far I know, you don't have to start over again. Every treasure on the ground will disapear except the two wardstones.

you could re-load from the latest auto save. it might seem pretty annoying, but its better than starting from the beginning.
