[IMG] When ever I get a Level Up on my main (or any character for that matter) I hardly ever get any Prof. Points to spend on weapon classes. Am I doing something wrong???

Also When ever I do get some points to spend I can never go above one point!

My main character is a Druid Shapeshifter, can anyone help??

    What do you mean??

I have'nt done anything of the sort!

Whenever I get a level up I sometimes get prof. points (not always) and when ever I do, I can never increase my stats above 1 point.

First of all, you're a Druid. Druids cannot have more than 1 point spread across a certain profiency.

Second, points are given out depending on your class. Some classes will get 1 point to use every 3 levels of advancement, others 4.

Ahhh, Thanks, It doesn't explain that in the manual (or does it?) and I've never played pen and paper AD&D.

    That explains it - thanks

    By the way, that sucks!!!

How so? You get to Shapeshift, you get to cast spells that normal Priests would not have access to and if you're playing the Shapeshifting Kit, you can turn into a Werewolf and at 13th level, a Greater Werewold who has 40% resistance to fire, cold, acid, lightning and some 50% magical resistance, attacks with two powerful claws, are resistant to non-magical weapons and need a +1 or more weapon to hit you. For games sake, you don't need anything else! ;)

all classes get one Prof. point at certain levels. you dont get them every level, you need to earn them. Fighters and fighter type kits are the only classes that can have more than one Prof. point spent on a weapon. a pure fighter can spend up to five on a melee weapon, but Rangers, Multi-Classed fighters, and fighter type kits can spend no more than 2. all other classes can spend only one Prof. point per weapon. i say you check the manual if you have it.

i agree with sylvus. If I had the chioce i would rather turn myself into a werewolf than try and fight something with a club or swor or something. All depends on how u look at it!

Not when with 5 slots in a weapon I can split a dragon's skull.
    I love weapon mastery.

    Sylvus,

point taken, I recently moved to lvl 13 and discovered the glory that is 'Greater werewolfery'.

What spells do I have access to that other priests do not?? - and is that because i'm a shapeshifter or a druid. Also, why is it that whenever I find a priest spell I have to get aerie to learn it because I can't.

PS - Please excuse all the questions but I'm a bit of an AD&D virgin

you will be told when a weapon is plus one because you will usually have to identify it unless you have a higher lore than the item and then it will say as an example short sword +1

[IMG] A Weapon +1 has the advantage of 1 extra damage, 1 extra to hit and it can't break (Unless it is a drow-weapon, wich will disappear when hold in sunlight)
Some creatures are immune to non-magical weapons, thus you need a +1 weapon or higher.

First off, Priest Spells are not "learned", they are simply given to you by your diety. Aerie is a Cleric/Mage, so the spells she has to learn are for the wizard class.

Some spells a Druid gets (regardless of your kit), are Call Woodland Being, Entangle, and Call Lightning for examples. I do not know all the ones you get if you're a Druid.
