    NWCon II

    Dates: 4/16-18

    NWCon is a chance for all fans of NWN to come togather and play, discuss, and make new friends. We have scheduled a ton of gaming sessions, expert panels, and in-game demos, with more added everyday. Here are the key links

    We still need DMs, game hosts, expert panelists, and question takers. PM me with questions about anything.

    Open Gaming: We decided early on that herding DMs is worse than herding cats, so we do not dictate the gaming schedule for NWCon. DMs and multiplayer game hosts are encouraged to schedule as many slots as they want during NWCon. Remember, sleep is for the dead.

    What we saw last time was we scheduled lots of games 2-4 weeks early, but all the signups happened about 2-4 days before the game. So are not pushing much scheduling until after 4/3 when the time changes in the US.

    The only rules for scheduling a game for NWCon are follows: 1. All NWCon games will be scheduled thru the Neverwinter Connections games scheduler. 2. All NWCon games must be Open or Application. Invite-only games are not not compatable with the purpose of NWCon. 3. Games for NWCon will need to follow a specific naming convention, like "NWCon: The Return of the Beasties". We use the naming convention because we send out an automated feed from the NWC scheduling system to our soon-to-be NWCon website, NWVault, and other places. The naming convention gets your game exposure. 4. All NWCon games should be "rated PG" unless they are clearly labeled as "mature subject matter". During the last NWCon, we had players of all ages and personal tolerances of mature subjects.

    Featured Games: We will have 4+ prepackaged DM mods, and 2+ prepackaged multiplayer (no-DM required) mods. These mods are for people who want to host games or DM, but for whatever reason do not want to create thier own. By prepackaged, I mean the mods will be checked to ensure they are ready to run, stable (no game-busting bugs), and have good DM docs where appropriate.

    Highlight Games: We already have some really interesting, genre-busting games lining up to be NWCon Highlight Games. How about playing Lazybones new "Epic Team Challenge"? Or maybe a go at FIREFLY using the d20 modern haks? Or going toe-to-toe with some of the net`s best PvPers on Bastions of War and NWTactics?

    NWCon PW- The World of Amon: DM_Ren has offered up a server running his excellent PW, the World of Amon, for exclusive use of NWCon from now thru the con. See his website, http://www.worldofamon.com/index.php for connection information, and for information on the PW itself. We are also looking for DMs wanting to run some scheduled events on our PW.

    Panels and IRC: We have a full slate of IRC and In-game Demo`s and Expert Panels this time. Learn about Custom Content, DMing, Playing, Prestige Classes, Building, and more from some of the most talented members of the NWN community. Additionally, Bioware will be part of the Opening Day Chat, along with CODI, d20 Modern and DLA. All the panels will be scheduled using the NWC scheduling system, and will appear on our NWCon schedule. Important: You DO NOT have to sign up for IRC panels to attend. You DO have to sign-up for the in-game workshops and Demo`s due to the limitations of the engine.

    Other things: We have stuff for sale, designed by our outstanding artist, DevinNight. All proceeds from the sales of the items goes to pay for the shipping of the NWCon prizes. YEP, we gots loot!

    ALFA is entering a server into it so there's no reason for anyone out there not to come! Imagin that, a chance to sample that amazingness of ALFA with out even having to download those haks or full out a membership form!
