"I will flex as the bamboo..."

"I will draw this as the wasp must draw the nectar from the flower..."

"I will tear your eyes out as the raven!"

Hopefully you know where these nature-related fortune cookie statements are coming from. I finished the quest with Cernd's child quest. I tore up Deril (Cernd did so as the wolf, actually), and Cernd left the party.

Oh, and there's this lich called Lagole Gon telling I get to live an be spared from his super-undead-power-magic thingie or whatever, because Deril was weak or something.

So, uh, what's the whole point of the lich there? Is there some significance later in the game with Cernd? Or am I simply missing something? Perhaps Cernd's child was to be a sacrifice to the lich?

    Anyone know?

Oh, and there is also a door at the far left area that is barred. Is there any significance to it?

I was unable to get through the barred door. Nevertheless - the lich is not so hard. It attacked me (was probably hit with some splash damage during the confrontation), but after killing him, I was unable to do anything more there.

You can also obtain Cernd's child without fighting (depends on dialogue choice). In that case Deril says something like "this isn't over" and threatens that he will come after you in the future. I've never kept Cernd in the party long enough to see if Deril came back (with possible reinforcements meaning more XP??!!).

    Anyone know something about this?

As for the barred room; I think it hasn't a specific function; there are similar barred doors in the Planar Sphere and the Gouvernement District and those AFAIK can't be opened either.

I killed Deril and then left the house but the lich never showed up again, even though Cernd was in my party right up to the end of TOB. I actually found him to be quite a decent fighter once he can shapeshift into a greater werewolf.

Maybe someone should do a mod where Lagole Gon turns up seeking revenge for killing Deril...
