Neb's lair

    Remove all ads!
    In Neb's lair there is a trap quite high up on the north wall. I've boosted my thief to about 150% find/remove traps, and I've never, ever, not once been able to disarm the stupid thing. Do I just have incredibly rotten luck?

    I'm pretty sure I got pasted by the trap as well. I think it was one of those green acid gel traps...

    I don't think it can actually be disarmed, no matter how high your Disarm Traps is.

    I've tried it many times with potions and boost and no luck the trap still works and there goes the half hit points my character has. :(

    I've never been able to disarm it, even with a hacked character with insane disarm skills (I got mad at the trap when I failed to disarm it 15 times running and hacked the character just to see if it could be done).

    This may be a stupid question but Neb's lair? I have played through ToB about six times and I can't recall it.

    Neb's lair is a house in the Bridge District that's part of the illithium ore (I think it's illithium anyway) quest. You get hired by one of the temples after you complete the Unseeing Eye quest to decorate their temple and Neb is a baddie you have to kill to get the ore.

    The question is why it was made to be impossible.

    I cant recall any other trap that cant be disarmed.

    There has to be a reason... or?

    It's a miserable way to lose a thief -- if you're playing core rules or harder, Jan gets killed beyond -10 HP and cannot, therefore, be resurrected. That really makes me mad!

    Ahh, so you refer to that house containing one room as a lair? And since this is the ToB board i thought it was somewhere in the ToB areas. I found out what to do with his head this time, the other 6 times I played through the game I just carried it around like a trophy.

    I can't remember any traps which can't be disarmed. Looks like I'll have to start BGII again (YAY!).

    I always just hit the door with a Knock spell. Then, you can walk right in without getting hit by the trap.
