i just checked out les weimer's tactics-mod and i somehow don't find any fun in chateau irenicus anymore when i come to face the illych gang.

i played BG2 and ToB at the insane-level and it was no problem. i also read the provided "hints"-file but all the posts seemed to apply to older versions of the imp-illych mod (e.g. much ink has been spilled about singling out illych's companions - but how's one supposed to do so if you cannot close any door ??) i'm not even able to get the chaos-sword +2 for minsc b/c even if i cast invisibility -- well, the Glaabrezu just doesn't give a d**n. and the gang like to stay together really close.

so has anyone any useful ideas ?? but please don't tell me i simply have to wait and reload some thirty or fourty times until one of these bastards comes around alone. that's just not the way i like to play.

(two notes : i don't want to play a sorcerer this time [and waste a slot on enchanted weapon] ; and i don't like playing thieves -- therefore no traps)

    thanx in advance

The only way I could think to handle this (I played the older version with doors that could be opened and closed) would be to run as fast as you could. Get the stone from Irenicus' quarters that allows you to reach the second level and use there as your base for nipping back through the teleporter, hitting one of them and then retreating. Do they heal their injuries if you hit them and then flee? If not, you could duck in and out of the teleporter until you've managed to kill them.
