braces of crushing?

    Hi everyone,
    i am currently playing a monk and have reached the sea shark city.
    i read recently that if you side with the fish king and actually kill the baron fish thing, you are rewarded with some great bracers.
    i killed the baron but when i returned to the royal court everyone attacked me on site.
    Did i kill some one by accident or do something in the wrong order?
    Im playing the tactics mod if that makes any difference.

    When the King asks you to get the rebel prince's heart, do so. Kill the prince in his hideout (I think everyone in the hideout needs killing too), then take the heart back to the King. He'll give you the gauntlets of crushing, magic rope, rod of lordly might, gold and experience.

    That's what happens in the regular game. I don't know what Tactics changes.

    Hmm, might go back and try again. Pity i've got to take out that damn preistess again to grab the cloak - that was a nasty battle, dont know how i killed the advatar the first time round but it swallowed most of my party.
    Are the braces worth another ten reloads or can my monk survive without them?

    The Avatar of Sekolah has a chance of 25% on each hit to imprison the target.

    PfMW will protect as well as very good s.throws, since it allows a save with -8 penalty IIRC.
    2-3 potions of Invulnerability (their effects are cumulative), or a potion of Magic Shielding (automatic s.throws) would help.

    That sounds like a good tactic but im already exploring the Underdark, are the braces worth it?

    If I'm not mistaken, it gives +4 to hit and damage when attacking with your fists. In a normal game, these are by far the best gauntlets for a monk.
