He's going to do you a favor. For real this time.

And frankly, I don't know if you *can* kill him...he might just wander off before you get a chance.

Killing Sameon is up to you, he can help you, but you don't have to have his help, we'll leave it at that. Personally, I like Sameon and just can't bring myself to kill him.

Actually, he's NOT in the cave. AFAIK, the only way to kill the stupid bugger is to attack him and hope he dies before he dimension doors out. I haven't done it; nor have I finished TOB yet, so I can't promise you won't get vengeance later. Nor do I know how killing him might affect your later game.

Incidentally, I do know it is possible to kill him in SOA before he doors out of the ship during the Gith invasion.

Saemon's head mounted on your suit of armor? Where would you put it? What about room for your head? :D :p

You can kill him again in ToB. I did it once, with the character who'd ahted Saemon enough to kill him on the boat last time. But it took several reloads before I could accomplish it without him teleporting away in the middle of it.

[IMG] I think he is one of the best characters in the game, an exemplary wicked thief, with some really fine ideas:D I like his style:D

Ugh. He reminds me of the twerpy smart-alecky sidekick in children's cartoons. If his tricks were trickier, I might feel differently, but they've all been completely lame and the game just limited the player's choices to ensure that they worked, which is too cheesy for me to be at all impressed.

But one nice thing about these games, the writers were really good about including a variety of different humor. So people who find Saemon funny, or Jan funny, or Cespenar funny, have something to laugh over, even if they don't find Edwin or the Spectator funny at all.

He is in the Drow City in chapter 5. you will have to get the magical rope from the Drow on the street and use it on Dierex's (the Lich) Tower.

The most annoying thing about your conversations with Saemon and Jarlaxle is the lack of any decent responses in the conversation. It's very frustrating to be constantly forced into saying "What?!? Why, you totally fooled me! How devious of you!", when in fact my two-year-old son could have figured out that these guys were trying to pull one on you from the start.

If there had only been a couple of eye-rolling responses, vaguely savvy responses, even amused no-skin-off-my-nose responses, I wouldn't have hated them quite so much... I have a knee-jerk reaction against NPCs the GM tries to force you into being tricked by left over from my old role-playing days. (-:

Tjek, have you considered the fact that you may have talked to them with not enough stats in say either intelligence or charisma. In most of my games I have had high stats in these and have always been able to say *smarter/wittier* responses to Saemon and Jarlaxle. Never have I only had the generic "what? you tricked me?" response to choose from.

That's possible... I'll have to have a look at their dialogue files and see! Though my last character through did have high stats in both INT and CHA and I don't recall any good responses for him, either...

I think Saemon is just a bit too really little kid's show-esque (except Balthazar's town where if you attack him he'll say "well.. I never knew you had such...feelings for me, I'll just have to leave you to simmer down a little...").

I think the spectator is AWESOME though...

    Cheers, Void.
