I would like to know if anyone out there has changed the music in their game and added their own music files. If so, how did you go about doing it?

I would think it would be a great laugh if some more "upbeat" music were to be added to the game. Got a few great ideas going, and I sure hope that I don't give away my age by naming just a few...

How about having AC/DC's Highway to Hell as you descend the stairs for your final battle with Irenicus at the end of SoA?

Cromwell's Smithy playing the theme song from the 1980's comic book movie, Heavy Metal?

Styx's Mr. Roboto upon completion of the Big Metal Unit?

Frankie goes to Hollywood's Relax when Anomen has to decide to take revenge for his sister's murder? and Maybe I'm amazed by Paul McCartney when you have to go rescue his behind when he tries to kill Sarek?

Carole King's line from an old tune when given the hand of Dace in Spellhold, wouldn't you give a hand to a friend?

Upon the consummation of any of the romances, Foreigner's "Feels Like the First Time"?

In Irenicus' dungeon, Playing Genie in a Bottle when retrieving the flask from the dryads?

Valygar getting the song Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden

Bodhi's song... Living after Midnight by Judas Priest.

Nalia's song... Rich Girl by Hall & Oates

How about Blinded By the Light for the Unseeing Eye Quest?

Live and Let Die when you meet up with Sarevok and he wants you to let him live again?

Just some thoughts, I really would like to do this, and would love to find out how...

It would be a real pain in the butt to do what you're describing.

You'd have to convert the music into WAV format, then edit SONGLIST.2DA or overwrite the original files.

You'd then have to edit a bunch of scripts and dialogues to cause the music to play when you want it to.

Why the hell would you want to do that? Genie in a Bottle in Irenicus's Dungeon? You mean by Christina Aguilera? I think you're having a laugh.

There was a Special Edition of BG2 put out about 2 years ago, that had an extra CD ith a new merchant ( the one in the CC) which allowed you to buy items from IWD, and if I recall correctly, this "bonus CD" also contained just the music files, so you could throw it into your CD player and listen to the tunes wherever and whenever you wanted to.

I actually tried to replace the bard music with a guitarsequence from Pantera once... DidnĀ“t really work.
